CXMagazine: 2011 Gieten Superprestige Preview.

This weekend the Dutch will get a taste of the Superprestige series as it heads to Gieten, the Netherlands. The race has been going on since it’s first edition in 1976 and held it’s first women’s race in 1996. The fastest men and women will take to the course around Gieten.

Pavé: North American Cyclocross Power Rankings, Week #11
After a bit of a static week – with the only major North American races happening in North Carolina and most of the country’s major players taking a bit of a rest – let’s take a look at the Power Rankings. Not much has changed, but Berden’s two wins and the fall-out from Trebon’s crash a week and a half ago cause some shifts. Meanwhile, some Americans have headed to Belgium for the World Cup.

Sport’s highest court completed a four-day hearing into Alberto Contador’s doping case on Thursday, and the Spanish rider must now wait until early next year to find out if he will be stripped of his 2010 Tour de France title.

Geox-TMC manager Mauro Gianetti has revealed that he has two potential sponsors lined up to replace his team’s current main backer. Gianetti had already admitted that he has been negotiating with the Venezuelan tourist board, and has now told the C-Cycling blog that he is also working on a possible deal with what he described as “a good, serious company that we know very well”.

VeloNation: Doctor Fuentes to go on trial for Operación Puerto offences.
Madrid’s Superior Court says sports physician Eufemiano Fuentes, former Liberty Seguros team boss Manolo Saiz and six others arrested in 2006 on suspicion of providing doping services to cyclists will be tried.
