Super compact chainsets: the next big thing for
road cyclists?
"Cast an
attentive eye over the adventure bike ranges of major bike
brands in 2017 and many will include a few bikes specced
with a sub-compact or ‘super-compact’ crankset.
That is to say, a double-ring chainset with a super-low 48/32t combination that’s easier to ride up steep gradients than the familiar 50/34t combination of a compact chainset. They also offer smoother jumps between cassette cogs than 1x. " (bikeradar.com) January 15, 2017

Sagan holds his Tour Down Under destiny in his
hands.
"With
the rainbow jersey on his shoulders and his billing as the
race's brightest star the clamor surrounding Peter Sagan at
the Tour Down Under is understandable.
The first and only other time he graced the race came in 2010 when as a relatively then unknown neo-pro he served warning of his talent by making the break alongside Lance Armstrong in the opening Criterium, and then again once again escaping on the stage to Willunga Hill." not only to the end-user who, at best, places their teeth in

Megan Guarnier: The (not so) natural.
"It was
a damp day in 2004 when a collegiate peloton slowly ascended
the slender road up Mt. Philo, a forested lump in the middle
of Vermont. F First came the Men’s A field, then the Men’s
B, and the Women’s A. Then the Women’s B field had their
shot.
They were new, many trying out cycling for the first or second time. A few got off and walked. One girl rode the entire way. At the top, Megan Guarnier of Middlebury College held an insurmountable gap. She didn’t dare raise both arms when she won. She couldn’t yet ride with her hands off the handlebars."
