Professors conclude: Don't
descend like Froome.
"Chris
Froome's descent of the Col de
Peyresourde on stage 8 of the 2016 Tour
de France, where he was tucked
precariously low and forward on his top
tube, pedaling like mad, was so unusual,
awkward, and effective that it sparked a
mixture of revulsion and Sunday club-run
copy cats."

Nibali hints that the Giro
d’Italia will erupt on the slopes of Mount
Etna.
"Vincenzo
Nibali is in his native Sicily ready for
the first GC showdown of the 100th
edition of the Giro d’Italia.
The Italian media is convinced ‘Lo Squalo di Messina’ will try to win stage 4 on Mount Etna, Europe’s most active volcano, in the hope of riding into his home town on Wednesday resplendent in the maglia rosa, and Nibali and his Bahrain Merida have done little to play down the growing sense of expectation." Ritchey Road Logic frameset
review: Classic steel, epitomized.
"Tom
Ritchey didn’t break the mold when it
came to designing the Road Logic, and
for fans of steel road bikes, that’ll
mostly be a good thing.
Save for some very slight ovalization at the base of the seat tube and through the midsection of the chainstays, all of the tubes are arrow-straight and round." (cyclingtips.com) May

Roads to Ride: Mount Etna.
"The
finish of the Giro d’Italia’s fourth
stage this year, Mount Etna or simply
“the mountain” to locals in Sicily is an
active volcano with several roads to the
top.
18km and 7% or more for most of the way makes this equivalent to the Galibier from Valloire. It’s easier because the altitude is kinder but mentally hard because the road just goes on with little to aim for. What’s it like to ride?" (inrng.com) May

Sam Bennett reveals illness
and rapid weight loss at Giro d’Italia.
"Sam
Bennett’s lack of form on the opening
days of the Giro d’Italia has been
noticeable considering his form so far
this year.
A 10th place on stage 1 and two anonymous finishes on Saturday and yesterday - with time losses - will have worried Irish fans. However, he has revealed that has suffered a bout of sudden illness." (stickybottle.com) May

Thoughts on GoPro’s new
Fusion 360° 5.2K camera.
"A
few weeks ago GoPro sorta-announced a
new action cam. Sorta being the
operative word here.
Unlike most GoPro announcement occurrences, this was more of a formalized naming and acknowledgment of existence. It included roughly as much information as an upcoming birth announcement, with about the same timelines and details. Yes, we know it’s a baby, and its gender. Oh, and it’ll be born sometime at the end of the year." (dcrainmaker.com) May
