Andre Cardoso suspended after testing
positive for EPO.
"Portuguese
rider Andre Cardoso of Trek Segafredo has been
notified of an Adverse Analytical Finding of
Erythropoietin (EPO), the UCI announced in a press

Could Sagan win 11 Tour stages this

"If

Seven things to look out for at the
2017 Tour de France.
"For
once, Chris Froome (Team Sky) goes into a Tour de

We’re used to seeing him dominate pre-Tour stage races, but this season he is without a win altogether and could only manage fourth at the Critérium du Dauphiné." (cyclingweekly.com) (Photo: Graham Watson) June 27,

Coquard 'angry' at Bernaudeau, who
defends Tour de France snub as 'sporting decision'.
"Bryan
Coquard will be spending July eating Merguez,
after all. At the Criterium du Dauphine, the
French sprinter joked about how he hoped he
wouldn’t be spending July barbequeing sausages.
But while he might not have fully believed Direct Energie team manager Jean-René Bernaudeau’s threats to leave him out of the Tour de France, the reality came crashing home on Monday when the final line-up was announced." (Photo: Tim De Waele) June 27,

Tour de France: Alberto Contador's
last roll of the dice.
"There
was a point in time when Alberto Contador was
almost unbeatable.
He would toy with the opposition without a hint of mercy before unleashing attacks so devastating that even the race vehicles would struggle to keep pace. Whether it was at Verbier in 2009, on the Angliru a year earlier, or on the upper slopes of Etna in 2011, Contador was an unstoppable force." (cyclingnews.com) (Photo: Tim De Waele) June 27,

How the Tour’s leader gets a yellow
bike (or not).
"Mario
Cipollini rode a pink bike at the 1997 Giro
d’Italia and a yellow bike later that same year at
the Tour de France - not a shocking turn of events
given the Italian’s flair.
Lance Armstrong regularly rode a custom-painted Trek on the Champs-Élysées. Matt Shriver, technical director for the Trek Segafredo pro team, says Trek has adopted multiple strategies for color-coordinated bikes over the years." (velonews.com) June 27,

A cycling homecoming: Tony Martin and

"It's

But when even Prudhomme predicts on the Tour's website that in the opening time trial in Dusseldorf "a multiple world-champion boosted by the support of his fans could well be the fastest man," it's pretty clear whom he's talking about." (cyclingnews.com) (Bettini Photo) June 27,

Silca T-Ratchet Kit + Ti-Torque -
Review.
"When
you are the Sherpa, there is but one simple rule -
don’t do anything to mess up your athlete’s race.
Yet there we were, sitting in a hotel room in
Texas after building up the bike. The bike had
survived 1,000 miles of air travel and a sketchy
Uber ride, only to have us build it, and realize
that, to save space and weight, we had left our
torque wrench at home.
And then came the decision - do we tell her that there is a slight chance her seat post may slip during the race … or do we just hope we torqued it enough without over torquing it." (aerogeeks.com) June 27,

paper, both mounts are very similar, using CNC
machined aluminum (American sourcing for the

anodized and laser-etched finishes, and
interchangeable molded plastic inserts for use

Both also offer accessory mounts underneath the computer head for things like cameras and lights, plus compatibility with 31.8mm and 35mm-diameter handlebars via handy hinged, single-bolt clamps." (cyclingtips.com) Photography by James Huang June 27,

It’s to help safety in the finish but will require a perceptual adjustment from inside the peloton and the outside." (inrng.com) (ASO) June 24,

Facebook promotion.
"Bike
retailers have taken to a sponsored Facebook post
promoting the new Shimano Ultegra groupset in
numbers outlining why they “see no point in
stocking it” due to prices available elsewhere on
the internet.
The ongoing feud between bricks and mortar stores and the manufacturing giant spilled onto the publicly visible social media network as the firm undertook a promotional drive on the groupset update. One aggrieved retailer, whose comment has been widely supported on the social channel, posted: “As a LBD there’s absolutely no point in stocking it or anything else from Shimano anymore."
