Tour Down Under: Ewan wins stage 3 sprint.
"Caleb
Ewan edged Peter Sagan at the line to take his second stage
win of the 2017 Tour Down Under Thursday during stage 3 in
Victor Harbor.
Once again, Ewan relied on patience and high-end speed to come past Sagan, who got the initial jump in the finishing straight but was not able to hold off the Australian as he slipped up the left side of the road. Sagan was able to hold on for second, while Bahrain Merida's Niccolo Bonifazio was third." (cyclingnews.com) (Getty Images Sport) January 19, 2017
The comeback star: Marianne Vos on her stellar
cross season and the pure joy of being back.
"What a
difference a year can make. When we spoke to Marianne Vos
around this time last year, her return to racing was still
uncertain. She had been sidelined with injuries for over a
year, and her comeback was much anticipated.
The multiple world and Olympic champion admitted to being doubtful about her recovery and frustrated by the uncertainty." (cyclingtips.com.au) (Photo: Cor Vos) January 19, 2017
Cleaning ’Cross: Teflon is Your Friend.
"Who
needs to overthink cleaning cyclocross bikes when a power
washer is blasting it at 3,000psi?
We all do if we want our bikes to last a long season, performing at their peak, so we sat down with the fine folks from Finish Line to find out how to do it right. It turns out, proper cleaning after a ’cross race starts before the gun goes off." (pelotonmagazine.com) January 19, 2017

Tour Down Under: Porte wins stage 2 on Paracombe
climb.

Porte stomped away from the rest of the Tour Down Under
contenders Wednesday on the Paracombe climb, taking the
stage 2 win and claiming the overall race lead.

“I don’t know how a magazine makes any money. Maybe books
are better. Take Bradley Wiggins. He writes a book every

Ochowicz: Dennis has so much potential, he can
do anything.
"The
fine line between harnessing immense talent and temperament
and letting it slip through your fingers is almost
impossible to manage. Every athlete, every competition and
dynamic differ, and what works for one rider can have the
exact opposite effect on another.
Jim Ochowicz has ruled the roost over his fair share of high-strung riders over the years, but in Rohan Dennis, he perhaps has one of the roughest diamonds in the modern peloton." (cyclingnews.com) (Photo: Tim De Waele) January 17, 2017
Tested: Diamondback Haanjo EXP Carbon.
"I spend
a lot of time thinking about irrational dream bikes. The
flying bike from ET. The folding bike that shrinks to fit
into a messenger bag. The road bike that transforms into a
mountain bike when you reach the trailhead.
That last one feels more in the realm of magical realism than true fantasy now that I’ve ridden the weird-in-the-best-way Diamondback Haanjo EXP Carbon." (bicycling.com) Matt Rainey January 17, 2017

Tour Down Under 2017: Sports Tech Gear Of the
Pro Men.
"After
the women’s debut on Saturday, it was time for the men to
make their entrance on Sunday at the People’s Choice
criterium.
It’s the first opportunity to take inventory of the gear of the pro men. Like with the ladies, I’m mainly focused on sports tech goodness, more than bike frames and wheels and such. Those areas are just a bit outside my focus. However, I’ve included whole-bike pics in virtually all team sections, so it makes it pretty easy to identify those parts."
