Specialized Roubaix Pro Di2 review.

Thumbnail Credit (cyclingnews.com): So long Zertz. It's been fun, but we found someone better for us. The all-new Roubaix Pro with Shimano Di2 represents the future of road bikes in our opinion, and in a second, you'll see exactly why. "I was never that convinced by the original Roubaix's Zertz inserts, and the big S has now decided that its best vibration absorbing solution involves a bona fide spring.

Specialized began by creating its lightest ever frame with the stiffest FACT 11r carbon, which seems unwise for something aiming to soak up rough roads.

Apparently considerably stiffer than the outgoing SL4 Roubaix, with new geometry but the same fit, the new model is more revolutionary than evolutionary."

Indeed, the Boardman Team Carbon frame that ferried Nicole Cooke to an Olympic Gold medal in 2008 has seen little change since her historic win."

Valverde: Older, Faster, Stronger.

"To understand how unusual Alejandro Valverde is, you could compare him with another child of 1980 who has been equally prolific as a winner, with 122 victories to Valverde's 106 to date: Tom Boonen.

Valverde and Boonen's cycling universes were so different that they rarely overlapped, even though they both turned pro in 2002."
