Giro d’Italia 2021 Stage 6 (3 stars).
"With
almost a week of racing in their legs, this stage presents
the first true test for the GC riders. The climbs in the
Apennines are not the most challenging in Italy, but none
of the riders hoping to be on the final podium in Milan
can have an off-day on the summit finish above the city of
Ascoli Piceno."
(pelotonmagazine.com) (Image Credit not Found) May 12, 2021 Giro d'Italia: Caleb Ewan wins crash-marred
stage 5.
"Ewan
was right up against the barrier on the right as Merlier
had what looked like a gear problem. Then the Australian
moved out from behind Viviani and Nizzolo to speed past
just in time for the line. Sivakov, Landa, Dombrowksi
crash in closing kilometers."

Giro d'Italia 2021.
"Ewan
smashes the stage, Landa crashes out, and Nizzolo the
bridesmaid (again) - don't miss these moments."

Roger De Vlaeminck and the “Killer Legs.”
"Roger
raced as a pro for 16 seasons, from 1969 to 1984, and was
an absolute beast during the 1970s. Mention the name Roger
De Vlaeminck and the race that first comes to mind is
Paris Roubaix. He won it a record four times."

standard inner tube.
"The
Italian tire brand says the new SmarTUBE promises a weight
reduction of up to 70% over regular inner tubes. The

tube."

rim wheelsets.
"A new
set of road bike wheels is one upgrade you can guarantee
will give your ride a new life. A set of new hoops can
shed weight to help in the hills or improve aerodynamics
so you can power along on the flat, vacuuming up KOMs
without breaking a sweat."

Tour de France history: Merckx and Molteni
conquer all.
"When
race officials at the 1972 Tour de France published the
General Classification after Stage 3(b), Eddy Merckx was
in yellow with an overall time of 15h 15min 21sec. Nothing
strange about that, perhaps, other than the fact his time
was now 20 seconds less than it had been at the end of the
previous stage."

Racing History?
"By
the time that kidney disease forced his premature
retirement in 1976 at the age of just 30, Fuente had won
the Vuelta twice (1972 and 1974), finished second at the
Giro (1972) and third at the Tour (1973), winning 14
mountain stages in the process."
By Peter Cossins (pelotonmagazine.com) Images from the Horton Collection May 13, 2021 Painfully close: Giacomo Nizzolo’s Giro record
makes for tough reading.
"No
bike racer ever wants to come second, in any race, but for
Nizzolo, finishing second on Wednesday would have been
particularly painful. In five stages of this year’s Giro,
Nizzolo’s already finished second on two occasions. And
that’s just the tip of the iceberg."

suit me, so I’m doing them all. It’s cluster of races all
together and so there is less travel for the athletes."
