Tadej Pogacar to race Vuelta a Espana after
Tour de France as team avoids questions about his dominance.
"Tadej
is possibly at a very similar level to last year. However,
the crashes and nerves from the start, which didn’t hamper
him, ended up getting rid of some big names like Roglic
and Thomas, and opening a big gap over the other
favorites."

Bradley Wiggins: Ineos just don't have the
Tour de France firepower they used to.
"The
team have never really found their footing when it comes
to the overall battle for the yellow jersey. Geoghegan
Hart and Porte were out of contention after the first two
days due to time losses and crashes, while Thomas
dislocated his shoulder in a stage 3 crash and has never
looked comfortable since."

Unbranded wheels; Fast time-trial equipment; Custom paint
jobs and more.
"Not
all equipment is created equal, but with the rise of house
brands, the ever-increasing integration of modern high-end
racing bikes, and increasing sponsor influence,
opportunities for fussy pros to customize their bikes had
appeared to be on the wane."

"If
you’re like us, you’ve no doubt been on a group ride when
someone suffered a flat tire and they have neither the
tools or even a spare inner tube to make the fix. And then
they stand next to their bike with that dumb, helpless
look on their faces."

What you need to know about stage 12 of the
2021 Tour de France.
"With
a single third-category climb on the menu, this should be
a day for the sprinters. But, in the words of Monsieur
Prudhomme, riders will “have to be extra careful: the wind
could be a key factor on wide open roads and echelons
could occur."

Norsgaard makes good on prophetic prediction
of win at Giro d'Italia Donne.
"Today,
on stage 6 of the race, the 21-year-old Dane came good on
that promise, out-sprinting Wiebes’ teammate Coryn Rivera
to cross the line in first place in Colico and take her
first Giro d’Italia Donne win."
By Amy Jones (cyclingnews.com) (Image credit: PMG Sport. Giro d'Italia Donne) July 7, 2021 Spotted: Jumbo Visma on yet more non-sponsor
wheels at the Tour de France.
"As is
becoming something of a common theme during the 2021
season, Jumbo Visma are using sponsor incorrect wheels at
this year's Tour de France, and Cyclingnews can
confirm that their blacked-out wheels of choice are in
fact Metron wheels from Vision."
By Josh Croxton (cyclingnews.com) (Image credit: Cyclingnews) July 7, 2021 Are one-week stage races In trouble?.
"More
young riders are foregoing the traditional late-spring,
weeklong races to prepare for the Tour de France in favor
of dedicated altitude training. Those legacy races may
gradually become less relevant and need to reinvent
themselves or reschedule their place in the calendar."

Tour de France Stage 11 Preview.
"Climbing
Mont Ventoux twice rather than once is one of the great
attractions of this year’s Tour de France. Before reaching
the iconic mountain, we mustn’t overlook the Col de la
Liguière, above Apt, a Cat. 1 pass that will cause an
initial selection."

Roger Kluge ‘pretty sure’ Caleb Ewan would
have beaten Mark Cavendish in Tour de France sprints.
"Would
Ewan have topped Cavendish in the bunch sprints? We’ll
never know, of course. But Roger Kluge, one of the
veterans of Lotto Soudal’s sprint train, believes his
teammate would have given Cavendish a run for his money in
the kicks to the line."

Black Inc teases five-spoked carbon road
wheels with retro vibes.
"Expected
to be named the Five, the new road wheelset aims to be
extremely light, super fast, and look like it too.
However, don’t expect to see this wheel in the peloton
because, as per UCI regulations, such wheels can’t be used
in mass-start competition."
