The Moment The Tour de France Was Won.
"Grand
Bornand, big win. The Laval time trial was important, the
Col de Romme was decisive. Stage 8 was hectic from the
start with riders trying to go clear and at one point
Tadej Pogačar joined in an early breakaway, a move that
said plenty about the chaotic racing."
(inrng.com) (Image credit: ASO) July 19, 2021 6 conclusions from the 2021 Tour de France.
"We
examine the 2021 Tour as a spectacle, wondering why the
race fizzled out after the high-octane first week, and
highlighting the importance of both questions and answers
in a race where the spectre of doping resurfaced once
again."

should never give up.
"Twelve
months ago, it looked like Cavendish’s career was stalling
towards retirement. Without a major win in years, and with
health issues plaguing him, a new crop of sprinters had
cemented their dominance in the sport."

teams.
"All
nine top-tier Women's WorldTeams will be on the start line
- Alé BTC Ljubljana, Canyon SRAM, FDJ Nouvelle Aquitaine
Futuroscope, Liv Racing, Movistar Team Women, Team
BikeExchange, Team DSM, Team SD Worx and Trek Segafredo."

de France 2021.
"We’ve
acclaimed Wout van Aert (Jumbo Visma) many times over the
last few years for being the best all-rounder in the
world. How long before we should start talking about him
as one of the best all-rounders the sport has ever seen?"

(cyclingtips.com) (cyclingfans.com) (steephill.tv) July 18, 2021 Standing on the Shoulder of Giants: The Tadej
Pogačar Era Is Here.
"Helped
by the absence of the penultimate-day time trial drama
that unfolded at last year’s race and a GC battle as
uneventful as the 2014 edition, Tadej Pogačar will ride
into Paris on Sunday to be crowned a two-time winner of
the Tour de France."

Wout van Aert: I'm just a little cyclist
compared with Eddy Merckx.
"Van
Aert's victory - his sixth in three Tour appearances -
came in the jersey of Belgian champion, and it was perhaps
inevitable that after preserving Merckx's hold on the
record, he would be asked if he was, in fact, the second
coming of the Cannibal."

CORE, BIKE, Speedplay & More Sale.
"Just
a super quick Monday heads up that Competitive Cyclist is
running a 2-day sale on a boatload of Wahoo gear, for
10-20% off almost everything. We’ve semi-occasionally seen
these 20% off sales on Wahoo products the day after the
Tour de France ends (yesterday), though I don’t think we
saw one last year."

Wonder Wout.
"He
won a mountain stage, an ITT and a sprint. This has
happened before, but you have to go back to 1979 to the
reign of Bernard Hinault, who won the final sprint in
Paris while in the maillot jaune, which he secured with a
mix of ITT and mountain stage wins. That is who we are
comparing Wout to."
By Chris Fontecchio (podiumcafe.com) Photo by Chris Graythen/Getty Images July 18, 2021 Mark Cavendish misses out on breaking Eddy
Merckx's record for the most Tour de France stage wins.
"The
British rider, who came into the stage tied on 34 stage
wins with Merckx was beaten to the line by Wout van Aert
and Jasper Philipsen in Paris. However, Cavendish's third
place was enough to secure his second green jersey."
By Daniel Benson (cyclingnews.com) (Image credit: Bettini Image) July 18, 2021 Tour de France Stage 21 Preview.
"After
starting at Chatou on the Seine River and looping to the
west and south of Paris, this final stage reaches the
Champs Élysées circuit after crossing the cobbled
courtyard of the Louvre museum. It should once again go
the way of the sprinters."
(pelotonmagazine.com) (Image Credit not Found) July 18, 2021 Trek Domane SL Disc frameset.
"The
Trek Domane SL is a smooth-riding road bike - even an
all-road bike - courtesy of IsoSpeed tech both front and
rear, which helps it damp down small vibrations and bigger
hits. It's not the lightest bike out there, but if ride
quality is your main concern, it's a real contender."

O'Connor: I hope to wear the Tour de France
yellow jersey one day.
"During
the Tour, O'Connor has not only delivered way beyond
expectations, he also claimed a spectacular solo stage win
in Tignes. He managed to bounce back from AG2R's
disastrous first stage, when he was one of seven of their
eight riders who crashed. In O'Connor's case, very hard."
