Can cycling's center hold in 2018?
"Things
fall apart - the center will not hold." It's a
famous literary quote, a little high-minded
perhaps for the world of professional cycling, but
as the 2018 season looms large, it heads seemingly
inevitably towards confrontation and controversy,
and those words - suggesting a collapsing empire
and a sense of the end of days - may prove
prescient."

Specialized S-Works 6 XC shoe review:
A top choice for gravel and dirt roads.
"If
you were to strap a S-Works 6 XC shoe to one foot,
and a standard S-Works 6 road shoe to the other,
you would be hard-pressed to tell them apart based
on fit and feel. Other than a bit more padding
around the heel collar, a more closed-off
perforation pattern (presumably to help keep dust
from entering the shoe), and some barely-there
armoring around the edge of the toe box, the two
shoes are virtually identical from the sole plates
up, and that’s a very good thing in this case."

Zipp 454 NSW carbon clincher wheelset
review: Stability inspired by whales.
"The
new, fancy-looking 454 NSWs, Zipp says the
so-called SawTooth stepped rim shape reduces the
wheels’ aerodynamic drag by smoothing out the flow
of air as it passes across the leading and

benefit of improving stability in crosswinds,
since that staggered shape supposedly reduces the
turbulence that is normally responsible for
knocking a rider off-line in blustery conditions." (cyclingtips.com)
