2011 Giro di Sardegna - Scarponi Wins Stage 5
While I admit that we didn’t spend much time covering them, there were other races this weekend besides the Belgian Opening Weekend.  Here’s a quick run-down of what you might have missed:

Jens Voigt (Leopard Trek) admits that his chances of claiming a record sixth victory at Critérium International are slim, but at least he’ll be at the start line this year to have a shot.

Big congratulations to Team Type 1 coming 2nd in the Gran Premio Regio Insubrica - 2011. They really seem to be enjoying riding their new Colnago M10 frames!

Will a coach increase your winning ways?
Why should you use a coach? It’s a pretty good question. Our “California Connection” elite coach Matt McNamara of Sterling Sports Group has been pondering this one for awhile and he came up with a few perspectives and a really cool offer!

Cycling : Omloop Het Nieuwsblad 2011
Well, its Monday and I’m still not sure what I think about Saturday’s Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. But here’s what I think I think:

A dozen or so thunder round the bend; like a cattle stampede, snorting stamping, pushing - Hayman, Hushovd, Tomeke, Flecha . .
It's the world's slowest sprint; Sebastian Langeveld and Juan Antonio Flecha are both wasted, small wonder, the Dutchman has been out front for the last quarter of the race on this foulest of days.

Estelle Rogers (Rollapuluza CC), Sarah Byrne (VC Raphael) along with Swedish girls Martina Thomasson and Carolin Gustafsson plus Julia Krasniak from France.
The Omloop Het Nieuwsblad definitely didn’t disappoint as my season opener.
