John Degenkolb made the cut in the second stage of Paris-Nice, catching
on to the lead group when the wind broke up the field in a “crazy
race.” The Project 1t4i rider was happy with his third place on the
stage, behind winner Tom Boonen, while fellow sprinter Marcel Kittel
mourned his lost chance.
CyclingNews:
While his BMC teammates Tejay Van Garderen and Taylor Phinney were at
the forefront of Paris-Nice on its early stages, former world champion
Thor Hushovd has been rather discreet at the event until now. The
Norwegian showed a good performance on stage one, the 9.4km time trial
last Sunday, where he finished in 14th postion, 17 seconds down on
winerr Gustav Larsson (Vacansoleil-DCM). But on Monday, Hushovd was a
victim of the echelons like many others and was not in the mix for the
sprint for stage victory in Orléans.
The
Italian WorldTour-level stage race once again opens with a team time
trial and finishes with a short 9.3km individual test against the
clock. In between there are a selection of tough stages, not least
stages four, five and six in the Apennine mountain range.

PEZ: One
of the strong men of Saturday’s Strade Bianche was Belgium and BMC
rider, Greg Van Avermaet, winner of last year's Paris-Tours. On Monday,
with the dust washed away, he took time to explain to PEZ readers about
his Saturday on the ‘white roads’ of Tuscany, a ride that saw him
attack on numerous occasions, netted him a spot in the group behind
Cancellara, and fifth place in Siena.

Mancebo was the top U.S.-based cyclist in 2011. The Spaniard dominated
the National Racing Calendar, winning the Tour of the Gila, Sea Otter
Classic, Tour de Beauce, Redlands Bicycle Classic, and Cascade Cycling
Classic. The only thing missing was glory in America's two biggest
races, the Tour of California and Colorado's USA Pro Cycling Challenge
(Mancebo's Realcyclist.com team didn't get invited to either event). In
2012, his renamed Competitive Cyclist Racing Team is looking to right
that wrong, attacking the season aboard the Pinarello Dogma 2.

Brake pads are not exactly exciting, and for that I apologize. But
excitement isn’t really the goal with anything brake related, is it?
Mid-corner surprises should generally be spurned in favor of boring old
