Taylor Phinney (BMC) celebrates another day in pink after rebounding from a last kilometer crash
CyclingNews: Taylor Phinney (BMC) made the most of his Giro d’Italia rest day by recuperating after his stage 3 crash. The American maglia rosa hit the tarmac inside the finale and was swiftly taken to the hospital after the podium celebrations. Scans revealed no broken bones, but treatment required several stitches to his badly swollen ankle.

Test: Cannondale EVO.
an impressive feat in frame engineering
RoadBikeAction: When we were seated and rolling along at a good clip, the difference we noticed in shock absorption was dramatic, so much so that we had to see if our rear tire was going flat—it wasn’t. When jumping out of the saddle to accelerate up a climb, the lateral and torsional stiffness the Evo exhibited made it feel like every bit of the top-tier race bike it was designed to be.

Moreover, the Spaniard was asked by Eurosport to rate this year's Giro d'Italia contenders, and the former Saxo Bank rider placed Michele Scarponi (Lampre-ISD) - the official 2011 winner - as his favourite for the overall victory.
