Don’t be surprised if you don’t see David Millar in so many breakaways this year. The poor fella has lost his sense of smell. How now is he going to be able to sniff out the right move? (cyclingweekly.co.uk)

Photo: Cav certainly gave it his all last year on the Kemmel but it wasn’t quite enough..
The so called ‘Sprinter’s Classic’ of Flanders, Gent-Wevelgem is on this Sunday and with 233km of wind, cobbles and the mid parcours hills could well combine to rob the sprinters of their win. (pezcyclingnews.com)

Photo: Gent-Wevelgem does not start in Gent, an outrageous lie. Instead Deinze, a town of about 30,000 people and some 25km away from Gent.
It’s on Sunday and it’s in the World Tour so on paper this is a big race although the course probably isn’t as selective as the freshly finished E3 Harelbeke. Cobbles and climbs feature but so does a long section to the finish line making this the most sprinter-friendly of all the major cobbled classics. (inrng.com)

Eddy Merckx told me the story of his 1973 Roubaix victory in hellish weather. Alfons De Wolf told us how he attacked on the Poggio in 1981 to solo to Milan San Remo victory. There were stage wins, yellow jerseys and classics victories all around us. Just a typical group ride with Eddy and his friends. (pelotonmagazine.com)
