VeloNews: The 2012 Tour de France opens with the June 30 prologue in Liège, Belgium. Among the 198 riders signing into the 99th edition of the Tour will be defending champion Cadel Evans (BMC Racing), Giro d’Italia winner Ryder Hesjedal (Garmin-Barracuda), and American Levi Leipheimer (Omega Pharma-Quick Step). But former green jersey winner Tom Boonen (Omega Pharma) and double 2011 stage winner Thor Hushovd (BMC) won’t take part.

Pedal: Rory Sutherland (Aus) UnitedHealthCare Pro Cycling Team claimed the overall victory on Sunday at his debut at the Tour de Beauce, but the loudest cheers were for Hugo Houle (SpiderTech p/b C10), who finished second overall and took home the Best Young Rider jersey, and Bruno Langlois (Garneau-Quebecor-Norton Rose) who won the final 125km Stage 6, Circuit urbain / Ville de St-Georges.

Sonya Looney: "I wasn’t planning to go to Germany until I got a request from CyclePassion to be in their calendar. They had asked me the year before, but I told them no because I did not approve of the theme of the 2011 calendar. I told them if the 2012 edition was different, I’d consider it."

InnerRing: The Tour of Switzerland is arguably the fourth biggest stage race on the calendar. Prestigious, historic, challenging and at the height of the season this is an important event on the calendar. The 2012 race was won by Rui Costa (Movistar).
