Sometimes you just have to be there. As the Giro d’Italia entered its second week, Michael Rogers predicted that his Tinkoff-Saxo teammate Rafal Majka might struggle in the time trial from Barbaresco to Barolo, but he revised that bleak prognosis on reconnoitering the course on Thursday morning. In vino veritas? Movistar's Nairo Quintana will certainly hope not, but the testing Giro d’Italia time trial through the vineyards of the Langhe suggested that the Colombian’s condition is not of the same vintage that carried him to second place overall at last year’s Tour de France. Let’s cut to the chase. Tinkoff-Saxo’s Michael Rogers is a divisive figure and many would have watched the finale of yesterday’s Stage 11 of the 2014 Giro d’Italia in a slightly perplexed state, unsure whether or not to cheer on the Australian’s undoubtedly impressive solo break that culminated in a handsome victory.  (crankpunk.com)

“We will be racing in 2015,” is the message coming from the Team Alonso camp. Since announcing in January that Paolo Bettini would manage team, things have been awfully quiet - until this week.
