Photo: Lance Armstrong during his interview with Oprah Winfrey, which aired Thursday night.

VeloNation: “Lance was a warrior…but not in the tradition of Hercules. Lance fought for gains in tradition of Bernie Madoff.”

TwistedSpoke: Every over-hyped media event from the Super Bowl to the Academy Awards has a Pre-Show extravaganza. That goes double for tonight’s Oprah Winfrey blockbuster interview with disgraced pro cyclist Lance Armstrong.

Photo: Lance Armstrong has had little practice at defeat. That showed Thursday.
Bonnie D. Ford It was a typical Lance Event, although it was about as far from the bike as it gets. It was about spectacle and managed production and trying to craft another chapter in a punctured epic that has lost its helium and sunk to earth.

Photo: Travis Tygart, the CEO of the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).
VeloNation: USADA CEO calls for disgraced rider to testify under oath if he is truly sincere.

Photo: Lance Armstrong Oprah show.
InnerRing: Everyone seems to have a verdict on the Oprah show. Reviewing last night’s TV would be a novelty for this blog so if you want a good take see Bonnie Ford on ESPN for a strong piece that goes from body language to the big picture.

Photo: The dapper Mr. Vaughters.
PEZ: "There really is a lot of teams in this part of Spain this year with apart from the ones I’ve already seen there is BMC which is still a possibility and I’ve spotted Cofidis, Astana, Sojasun, Euskaltel-Euskadi, CCC Polsat, Top Sport Vlaanderen and some Orica-GreenEdge riders, not to mention Lotto Belisol a bit further north and Blanco south down the coast. Vacansoleil-DCM."

Photo: BMC Racing springs two of its stars on the Tour de San Luis.

PodiumCafe: The content of Lance's confession will surprise few who follow closely the sport of cycling. After the US Anti Doping Administration (USADA) released it's "reasoned decision" in October that detailed all of its evidence that Armstrong broke numerous anti-doping codes, there could be little doubt that the allegations levied against Lance over the past years were true.
