SBS: Argos-Shimano's Kirsten Wild took out the second stage of the Ladies Tour of Qatar in a bunch sprint, but only after seeing off an all-out assault from the Orica-AIS team that blew the race apart.

VeloNation: Australian team smashes the peloton in the wind, but Dutch powerhouse takes stage and Hosking holds lead.

Photo: Kluge and Schep win Berlin Six.
VeloNation: Last-gasp effort sees duo come from behind and snatch victory.

Photo: Most guys I deal with don’t actually know what a rider agent does or should be doing.
CyclingTips: Ever wonder why a professional cyclist might need an agent or manager? Professional cycling is a business and results don't necessarily translate into contracts and money.

CyclingNews: Rider's attitudes need to change, says race director.

Photo: Neo-pro Joe Dombrowski is aiming for a spot supporting Bradley Wiggins at the Giro d'Italia.
VeloNews: We’re not in Kansas anymore, Joe Dombrowski.

Photo: The UCI and WADA have been arguing about procedure for some time but it’s got out of control.
InnerRing: Cycling’s embrace of Truth and Reconciliation did not last long. The ambitious but vague spirit of inquiry and investigation evaporated as the UCI and WADA traded angry press releases with words like “deceit” and “arrogance” being used. This is the public relations equivalent of a bar room brawl.

Photo: Eufemiano Fuentes - The Puerto trial opened this week with the distinct feeling of a great surrealist work..
VeloNews: Spain has produced some of the world’s greatest surreal art, from Dali’s melting clocks to Buñuel’s Andalusian dog. Based on the opening two days of hearings here, perhaps the Operación Puerto trial will someday be added to that list.

Photo: Pit crews need credentials this year at Masters Worlds © Brian Nelson.
CXMagazine: Mechanics who went to register with their riders today for Masters Worlds expecting to easily collect a pit pass were surprised by USA Cycling requiring  anyone in the pit to hold UCI or USA Cycling licenses.

Photo: Fabio Aru, Astana.
PEZ: Season 2013 is now upon us so we thought it was time to look at some new faces in the WorldTour peloton this year.

Photo: Gu’s Recovery Brew.
RedKitePrayer: "From the first bottle I mixed up of the Chocolate Smoothie, I was sold. After drinking Ensure, Muscle Milk, Pure Protein and a few other notables, I pushed them all aside in favor of the Gu Brew."

Photo: According to Koala Bottle founder and creator Anthony Goldman, you only need to get the bottle and cage near each other for a secure connection.
BikeRadar: Upstart company Koala Bottle isn't the first to offer a 'new and improved' water bottle and cage system, nor is it the first to incorporate magnets. However, the system is very interesting from an ease-of-use standpoint and could offer some genuine benefits if the promises ring true.

Photo: Massi - There are three different road frames in the range: the Pro SL, the Pro and the Team.
road.cc: Carbon bikes available off the peg or in a custom build.

Photo: Bont Riot.

Photo: John Degenkolb Felt team bike.
road.cc: John Degenkolb's Vuelta a España five stage winning team bike.

Photo: It’s great to see Trek’s effective decoupler on a bike at this price.
BikeRadar verdict: 4.5 out of 5 stars. "Trek’s radical frame sets a whole new benchmark for ultra-smooth speed sustain."

Photo: Not over ... Tygart, USADA CEO frustrated.
VeloNation: USADA CEO frustrated by governing body’s decision to shelve investigation into it.

InnerRing: Hesjedal stands at 1.88m (6′ 2″) tall and yet he rides a comparatively tiny 56cm frame. Much of that is based on his extreme position, which includes a gargantuan handlebar drop of over 17cm.

PEZ: Juan Antonio always seems happy and ready to race, a rider who can’t wait to pin that number on his back. Let’s face it; anyone who can put that infamous crash with the TV car in the Tour de France'11 behind him and relish a new season with a new team with the expectations of a neo-pro must love cycle sport.

Photo: Giro 2012 S11 Frank Schleck signs on (Gian Mattia D'Alberto - LaPresse - RCS Sport).
road.cc: RadioShack rider tested positive for diuretic during last year's race; partially backdated ban means free to compete in mid-July.

Photo: Floyd Landis’ statement connected to his whistleblower case, the American accused Van Elslande of carrying out illegal blood transfusions.
VeloNation: A Conflict of interest apparent, Belgian was accused of carrying out transfusions in USADA report.

Photo: Ashenden, Michael.
VeloNation: Ashenden: ‘I would find any explanation the UCI gives now about test statistics very difficult to believe’.

Photo: The UCI and WADA must work together.
CyclingNews: In the last 48 hours the UCI, WADA, the UCI's disbanded Independent Commission and even a lobby organisation has released statements on the state of cycling's doping problems. Each press release has been more farcical and ambivalent than the last, with only the Independent  ommission coming out of the situation with any credibility after their suffocated attempted to do their job properly.

Photo: Viatcheslav Ekimov, Joaquim Rodriguez and Denis Menchov hope to find the winning formula.
CyclingNews: Rodriguez has offers in place but promises to await the CAS verdict.

Photo: Joaquim Rodriguez.
VeloNation: Will wait to CAS decision about Katusha WorldTour licence before deciding.

Photo: Tom Boonen and Mark Cavendish are two of the surest bets in cycling.
VeloNews: Mark Cavendish, fastest man on a bike. Tom Boonen, best man in the classics. The two ride for the same team now. Both are absolute stars, and are in the top of the class in their respective disciplines. Both are former road world champions and have won the Tour de France’s maillot vert.

Photo: Recovery rewards..
TwistedSpoke: “I’m recovering just fine, thanks. That four hour sufferfest really didn’t destroy my legs as much as I thought. Think I’ll do the Death Ride tomorrow.” That’s compression gear in a nutshell..

Photo: Shimano M520.
BikeRadar: A good pair of pedals can transform your riding, whether you prefer minimalist clip-in race pedals, are prepared to sacrifice weight savings for stability with one of the latest trail pedals, or want to push your limits downhill on flat pedals combined with sticky-soled shoes.

Photo: the latest version of the Felt AR, the company’s aero bike.
road.cc: More highlights from Core, this time from cutting edge carbon to retro steel, do-anything practical to full on performance.

Photo: Maxxis Padrone PELOTON Tubeless.
Peloton: Tubeless has benefits standard clinchers don’t, end of story. We can debate rolling resistance and handing until the cows come home, but increased puncture resistance is not up for debate.

Photo: Tech editor Caley Fretz reports that Giant's new aero road frame stood up well to four days in the saddle in South Australia. Photo: Caley Fretz | VeloNews.com.
VeloNews: Designing a bike is an exercise in balance, engineers teetering back and forth as they plan and build, determining how much emphasis any single attribute deserves and positioning those values into the finished product. Within an aero road frame, this balance is even more precarious.

Photo: Stefano Feltrin, Andre Tchmil and Oleg Tinkov (l-r) at the Katusha team launch.
CyclingNews: Former Katusha manager promises to be a "transparent and independent" President.
