Photo: Mathieu Van Der Poel mounts a masterful defense of his junior world title in Louisville.
VeloNews: It was no contest. Mathieu Van Der Poel (Netherlands) easily defended his junior crown at the UCI Elite Cyclocross World Championships on Saturday, flashing his No. 1 race number as he sailed across the line alone..

Photo: Mathieu Van Der Poel continues the family tradition of excelling — even dominating — cyclocross.
VeloNews: Two for two. 25 for 25. Either way you measure it, Mathieu Van Der Poel is perfect. The Dutchman captured each of the two world championships he contested at the junior level, including Saturday’s race in Louisville. On the season, he stacked up 25 straight victories.

Photo: Sven Nys talks thinks the time is right for the biggest race to go overseas.
CXMagazine: While the new schedule for Elite Worlds might be a point of contention, one thing the Belgians as a whole could agree on is the quality of the course.

Photo: Trek Marlin 29in wheel mountain bike.
BikeRadar verdict: 3 out of 5 stars. "The Trek Marlin is a sound basis for a great riding 29er, but it really deserves a better fork."

Photo: Katie Compton knew she wasn't spectacular on Saturday, a state she must achieve to beat Marianne Vos.
VeloNews: It wasn’t meant to be. The rainbow jersey that has eluded American Katie Compton for so many years was once again just out of reach Saturday in Louisville, Kentucky.
