With standard-issue pro bikes sitting at or near the 6.8kg (14.99lb)
UCI weight limit, even with deep, aerodynamic wheels, riders no longer
have a need to make wholesale bike or component swaps for days in the
mountains. Drilled or one-off components and riders swapping to
extra-light frames at the base of a big climb are mostly a thing of the
past.

Two new SuperSix Evo framesets added for next year, one is lighter and
the other is more affordable.

It's time to get creative.

Former Hour Record holder unveils bike he'll use for speed record.
VeloNews:
The numbers at the Tour are made of fabric and adhesive backed. Most
riders also pin them on for extra security. Riders will leave them on a
jersey and re-use them as many times as they can, just to save the
trouble of re-pinning them. But they are indeed given multiple sets of
numbers.
InnerRing:
Each stage is analyzed, each jersey is explained and once more
information is available there will be full list of riders and other
content that’ll be updated every day so you can dip in and out during
the next few weeks.

French winners at Alpe d’Huez are rare enough to be extremely
conspicuous. Before Rolland’s win, five-time Tour winner Bernard
Hinault was the only other home winner at the most famous summit finish
in cycling. Every winner at the Alpe has his name inscribed on the sign
over one of the 21 hairpin bends, and Rolland’s name has gone above
bend 16, along with that of Joop Zoetemelk, a winner at the Alpe in
1979.

Cadel Evans (BMC) made his intention clear with a daring attack on
stage 11 of the Tour de France to La Toussuire, but the defending

CyclingIQ:
Stage 12′s profile didn’t fully support the notion that a pure sprinter
like Andrea Guardini could win; the Italian even had his own doubts if
he could place highly. So when Guardini rounded the last corner of the
race’s longest stage in a near-complete field of 108 riders, the odds
of his third stage win improved considerably.

clincher offerings for 2013.

After running according to the agreed script for 10 days, Sky's Tour de
France challenge experienced its first plot twist on stage 11 to La

In a Tour de France dominated by the youngest riders, it was nice to
see the ‘old’ German go at it yesterday. Jens Voigt, the oldest rider
in the race at 40 years old, escaped, lost ground, regained and then
just missed the stage win. Along the way, he won the fans’ hearts.
