Photo: A time trial might be a race against time but watching one on TV can be a waste of time..
InnerRing: Time trials are crucial in the Tour de France. Yet for all their importance, watching a rider pedal solo rarely offers great TV.

Photo: Sacha Modolo again demonstrated he is the man to beat.
CyclingIQ: If victory in Xining last Sunday didn’t sufficiently inform his rivals, Sacha Modolo again demonstrated he is the man to beat should a bunch sprint materialize.

Photo: Good value kit but heavy steel-legged fork.
BikeRadar verdict: 4 out of 5 stars. "Heavy but light-handling and responsive enough to be a lot of confidently controlled fun on technical trails."

Photo: Ricky Feather hand built custom frames.
CyclingWeekly: Four years ago, former BMX rider Ricky Feather left his factory job to learn how to build bikes.

Photo: But it’s short and the time gaps should be deliberately small.
InnerRing: A stage to reshape the overall classification. If the 2013 Tour is all about the mountains, today is the exception with a flat course that’s exposed to the wind, a route to scare the climbers.

Photo: Chris Froome, Time Trial, Team Sky, Pinarello.
CyclingWeekly: The Tour de France's riders face their first individual time trial tomorrow to Mont-Saint-Michel, a stage that could be just as decisive as the mountain days last weekend.

CyclingNews: Manxman keeps third place after Veelers crash.

Photo: Anything can happen in this backloaded 100th Tour de France, but Chris Froome cleared a lot of road toward Paris on Wednesday. Photo: Graham Watson.
VeloNews: After just 11 stages of this 100th Tour de France, Sky’s Chris Froome leads the general classification by more than three minutes, and there’s little reason to think he won’t ride into Paris — barring catastrophe — in yellow.

Photo: Way ahead...
TwistedSpoke: It’s been a topsy turvy Tour de France after the two stages in the Pyrenees and the Mont Saint Michel time trial.

Photo: Did you know recreational cyclists are doping now? It’s true.

RCUK: The Manx Missile finished third yesterday despite the collision, with Veelers’ team mate Marcel Kittel taking the stage victory.

Photo: Daniel Martin (Garmin-Sharp) outsprinted Jakob Fuglsang (Astana) to win stage 9 at the Tour de France.
DougReport: Dan Martin may be the only card Garmin-Sharp have left to play in the general classification contest.

Photo: The Packable Stormshell is offered in Hi Vis Yellow for those opposed to black.
BikeRumor: Nothing ruins a ride like rain. That is, until you ride in the rain and realize, hey, this isn’t so bad!

Photo: Garmin-Sharp chief Jonathan Vaughters.
VeloNation: Garmin-Sharp chief talks Tour de France tactics, Martin’s potential and more.

PodiumCafe: And so the Giro Rosa is over for another year... Such brilliant racing and excellent times.

Photo: After a four-year courtship, Dave Brailsford and Chris Froome finally found themselves under the Sky banner for the first time at the 2010 Tour Down Under. Photo: Graham Watson.
VeloNews: Chris Froome (Sky) made a big move toward wearing yellow in Paris on Wednesday, but it was a middle-of-the-road time trial back in 2006 that helped put him on the path toward Tour de France glory.

Photo: Pat McQuaid UCI President.
CyclingWeekly: Incumbent UCI president Pat McQuaid released his manifesto ahead of the election in September which will see him pitted against BC's Brian Cookson for the big job at the UCI.

VeloNews: Tejay van Garderen (BMC Racing) didn’t expect to be starting the second half of the Tour de France parked in 50th, more than 35 minutes behind the yellow jersey.

Photo: Jiri competing earlier this year in his favorite discipline, the time trial.
PEZ: The first man out of the starthouse at today’s individual time trial at Le Tour was not the current last placed rider, Dmitriy Muravyev from Astana it was Jiri Jezek multiple World and Paralympic champion on both the track and road.
