Photo: Chad Haga rode to victory in Thursday's opening time trial at the Redlands Bicycle Classic.
VeloNews: Before the start of the Redlands Bicycle Classic this week, Chad Haga of Optum-Kelly Benefit Strategies topped everyone’s list of favorites for the opening time trial. His strong ride in Thursday’s race against the clock lived up to expectations, and Haga now sits in the catbird seat in the race for overall victory.

Bicycling: It’s common for those who live in the colder regions to scout out warmer climates for spring rides, races, and tours. It’s a great way to get base miles.

Photo: Fabian Cancellara is the odds-on favorite for Roubaix, but odds don't mean much on the cobblestones..
VeloNews: While 25 teams of eight riders will depart Compiegne, one man, Fabian Cancellara (RadioShack-Leopard), is the clear favorite for a cobblestone trophy more than six hours later.

Photo: There have been many surprise winners in Paris-Roubaix’s long history.
Peloton: Favorites don’t always win Paris-Roubaix—and that could be the case this Sunday in the 111th edition of the sport’s most prestigious cobblestone classic.

Photo: The story of Roubaix of course is the cobbled sectors. This year there are 27 of them.
PodiumCafe: On Sunday the 2013 cobbles season comes to a close with the big climax. Paris-Roubaix, The Queen of the Classics. At once the easiest and hardest of all races to predict.

Photo: you can barely see the inner chainring, perhaps they’re looking at a one-piece double chainring.

Photo: Manufacturers have funded teams since the start of the sport.

Photo: At the 2012 race, Kenny De Haes rides along the Trouée d'Arenberg sector of cobbles — the most iconic of them all.
VeloNews: There seems a tortured relationship with Paris-Roubaix for the peloton and its directors; here is one of the most storied races in cycling history, and yet it can bring absolute misery.

Photo: The cobbles, the dirt, the mud, the crashes.

Photo: you save a few dollars by making your own.
BikeRumor: Hundreds of energy bars, gels, drinks, gummies, and beans are on the market trying to fill that crucial need. Over time you find a favorite type, brand, and flavor; you become loyal; and you purchase a lot of it.
