Valkenburg TTT
InnerRing: Past editions, personal experience and even legends from yesteryear combine to help form your thoughts about a race. But since this is the first time we’ve had a team time trial in the world championships, at least in this format, it is going to be a new experience.

Pablo Urtasun (Euskaltel-Euskadi) wins stage 7
CyclingNews: Tiernan-Locke retains overall lead.

Ty Magner (BMC-Hincapie Sportswear Development Team) wins the final stage of the 2012 Tour of China.
CyclingNews: US-based BMC-Hincapie Sportswear devo team notches biggest victory of 2012.

Tiernan Locke
VeloNation: Major battle brewing in close-fought race.

Before you buy your BMX, think about the type of riding you want to do – then figure out what weight of bike you need, and whether you need things like stunt pegs
BikeRadar: The sport of bicycle motocross, or BMX as itʼs more widely known, originated in America in the early 1970s. It was designed as a stepping stone for kids to get into motocross, and quickly blew up into a sport in its own right.

Bicycling: We asked some of the world's savviest pro racers for the single piece of wisdom they received during their careers that made the biggest difference in their riding.

Bicycling: The world cycling championships get under way on Sunday, with seven days of racing set to produce several new champions as Britain’s Mark Cavendish attempts to defend his road race crown on the final day of the competition on September 23.

CyclingNews: Tiernan-Locke takes race lead from breakaway.

VeloNation: Sky rider’s worlds participation not thought to be threatened.

VeloNews: Earlier this month, the UCI requested a full account of the agency’s findings but has yet to receive them, according to president Pat McQuaid.

Farrar
VeloNation: Vuelta top ten finisher Talansky takes vacated place.

Jens Voigt (RadioShack-Nissan)
CyclingNews: After signing a one-year contract extension at RadioShack-Nissan, Jens Voigt is hoping to help guide Andy Schleck and Fabian Cancellara back to the top of the sport in 2013. The 40-year-old has been a teammate to both riders for a number of years even as the pair struggled with injuries in 2012.

PEZ: What better way to preview the Worlds than to ask a man who knows the region like the back of his hand? Peter Easton from Velo Classic Tours takes us through an in depth look at the region of Limburg in the Netherlands which hosts this year's race. It's Worlds time!

Biker mama
Today: Emily pedals around Portland in a "bakfiets," which is a cargo bike that looks a bit like a wooden wheelbarrow-bike hybrid. Her younger children, ages 2-9, ride in various carriers and seats, while her 11-year-old son usually follows behind on his own bike.

GP Impanis-Van Petegem
CyclingFans: The 2012 Grand Prix Impanis-Van Petegem is Saturday, September 15. Live streaming video: 2:35pm CET (8:35am U.S. Eastern).

“Motoman” poses between Jens Voigt and Frank Schleck in a photo discovered on “Motoman’s” facebook profile by Martijn Hendriks (@hendriksmj)
Cyclismas: Tyler Hamilton’s tell-all book, The Secret Race, identifies Maire as the shadowy individual Phillipe the ” Motoman,”  who acted as an EPO mule for Armstrong and select members of his USPS team during their 1999 bid to win the Tour de France.

Hamilton. Secret Race no more.
TwistedSpoke: Mandatory reading for anyone who cares to know about what it took to win races in the 90′s. Well-written by Coyle, who wrote (in our opinion) the definitive Armstrong book Armstrong’s s War, the story is a fast and furious and fascinating read.

WADA director Howman
AP: WADA director general David Howman told The Associated Press on Thursday he’ll wait to see more details of the amnesty suggestion put forward last week by UCI President Pat McQuaid in the wake of doping cases involving Lance Armstrong and other riders.

Anthony Rodale, who sometimes shows up for our lunch ride, opened a gallery here in Emmaus
Bill Strickland:  Bicycles are never not something. They are toys and exercise machines, and they are healers, and they are vehicles for transportation and vehicles for personal revolution (and evolution), and they are art, and they are the things of our dreams, but they are never trash. They live on and on.

PodiumInsight: The second weekend of the North American cross season offers up four UCI races including the kickoff of one of the four UCI series in the USA, the Verge New England Cyclocross Series in Vermont.

Tom Boonen (Omega Pharma-QuickStep) won in Antwerp.
CyclingNews: Tom Boonen has said that he would welcome the arrival of Mark Cavendish at his Omega Pharma-QuickStep team next season. Cavendish has hinted that he may leave Sky this winter due to the limited manpower the team has been able to devote his sprint train and Omega Pharma-QuickStep has been widely touted as a potential destination.

Stevens Fluent Carbon ES
BikeRadar verdict: 3 out of 5 stars. "Light, comfy and with handling that flatters most riders, but not quite special enough to justify that price."

The Secret Race
CompetitiveCyclist: "The Secret Race" by Tyler Hamilton and Daniel Coyle is a coming-of-age story that fascinates in countless ways before a slow deflation by the end. It shines brilliantly in its anecdotal detail.

VeloNation: Astana’s Alexandr Dyachenko set to become race winner.
