0036 Armstrong Plg @PhSport
RedKitePrayer: "In last week’s column, I began to trace my journey in cycling from the 1960s, first as a racer then a writer, in connection with the sport’s escalating problems with illicit drugs. This week, I’ll continue the story from where I broke off, at the 1998 Tour de France, when the French team Festina was thrown out for organized doping. What the Festina Affair revealed was the degree to which EPO had transformed cycling in the worst possible way."

USADA still preparing its report for UCI and WADA
CyclingNews: There won't be any further action on the USADA's anti-doping case against Lance Armstrong anytime soon. The USADA said it will still be a while before it is ready to pass along its information to the UCI and the WADA.

road.cc: Money raised from auction will be used to help seriously ill children.

Velo Paul Fournel
InnerRing: Overall this is a very enjoyable book that’s actually better in this format than the original French paperback. It’s escapism and reminds me of Tim Krabbé’s rider because of the detail and the tight prose.

Paolo Bettini
CyclingWeekly: The Italian national coach, Paolo Bettini likes what he sees in Valkenburg. His team has previewed the World Championships road race course for Sunday, when - even with a young team - anything is possible.

BikeRadar: A Dutch team have failed in their bid to set a new speed record at the World Human Powered Speed Challenge in Battle Mountain, Nevada last weekend, despite winning the event.

Raimondas Rumsas in action during his Lampre days.
Rumsas' quiet Tuscan life is a far cry from that murky summer of 10 years ago, when images of French police handcuffing his wife Edita, her glum expression almost comically at odds with her multi-coloured jumper, delighted picture editors at newspapers across Europe.

The new elan alpha uses rolf prima's 'delta' rim design with a 22mm wide rim: the new elan alpha uses rolf prima's 'delta' rim design with a 22mm wide rim
Although not a huge company, Rolf Prima's 2013 line-up offers a good snapshot of current trends in the cycling world: 650b mountain wheels, 11spd-compatible hubs, wide-rim road wheels, carbon clincher road wheels and disc road wheels. One interesting offshoot: a road wheel built for disc and rim brakes.

VeloNews: The famous steeps of the Cauberg climb in the heart of the hilly Dutch country around Valkenburg set the stage for what should be wildly unpredictable racing this week at the UCI Road World Championships.

CyclingNews: Tejay van Garderen (BMC Racing) admitted that his excitement on the Cauberg may have cost BMC the chance of winning the Worlds team time trial in Valkenburg.

Booth babes.
TwistedSpoke: Whoo-hoo! Can’t wait to get to Interbike tomorrow for the Specialized lap dance, the SRAM Pole dancing demos and the Pearl Izumi party girls. Bring it on, Vegas, raw sex, cheap and tawdry sport marketing strip show!

VeloNews: American Evelyn Stevens nearly won a second gold medal today at the UCI Road World Championships and afterward turned her eyes toward Saturday’s road race. With one gold already in hand from Sunday’s team time trial, the American was hoping for a second one in today’s individual test, but had to settle on silver.
