2012 Tour de France's only positive goes in front of Luxembourg panel
CyclingNews: The only rider to test positive in this year's Tour de France, Fränk Schleck, came away from his meeting with the Luxembourg Anti-Doping Agency (ALAD) with "a good feeling", according to Wort.lu.

“level playing field”
InnerRing: There are some who say that because almost every overall contender in the Tour de France was doping it doesn’t make much difference to the result. Since everyone was doing it the results would have been the same if everyone had ridden clean.

BrowneEye: "To say that the cycling world has been turned upside down is an understatement. No longer can anyone preface an introduction to Lance Armstrong as “accused of doping.” Any introduction should now be “disgraced professional rider Lance Armstrong.”"

Cyclismas: "Yes, there are drug infringements in women’s cycling.  I know that, of course I do. Some high profile; from crooked coaches and their evil regimes, to repeat offenders that make me feel angry every time my team lines up against them.  Even World Champions have fallen foul of the clear rules and regulations."

VeloNews: Filippo Simeoni was one of the last witnesses to testify in the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency case against Lance Armstrong, but was one of the first to confess. In 2002, he told the truth in an Italian hearing in Bologna, when he admitted he worked with doping doctor Michele Ferrari when the fashion was to keep quiet. In fact, he paid for it.

VeloNews: While the bPost Bank Trofee was celebrating a new title sponsor and series format, effectively turning the eight race contest into a stage race awarded to the rider with the shortest cumulative time, another, more subtle rule change sparked controversy on Sunday.

Bobby Julich
Racy Language: In his book Racing Through the Dark, David Millar relates how he went to Como with his new roommate Bobby Julich to pick up the American's belongings and Millar found a treasure-trove of Motorola team gear. That apartment on Via Masai was originally shared by Armstrong, Andreu and Hincapie but when Lance moved to a villa outside Como, Julich moved in to the apartment.

Dr Michael Ashenden
CyclingNews: Michael Ashenden, the anti-doping expert and former member of the UCI's expert panel, has criticized Cycling Australia – the governing body of cycling in Australia, for a lack of action against doping.

Former cycling champion Phil Anderson prepares to take part in the Amy Gillett Foundation charity ride in Geelong.

Johan Bruyneel will attempt to work the oracle with Andy Schleck in 2012.
CyclingNews: Andy Schleck is focusing on his future and has said that cycling should do the same. Despite the recent USADA report about Lance Armstrong and revelations of organised doping, the Luxembourger told L'Equipe that he was confident the sport will be able to overcome the problems of the past and that the current anti-doping tests were an efficient deterrent against doping.

Judy Freeman: "Thursday’s short track was a tough one, using a good deal of the XC course for the main climb. Luckily, the rains from the week before let up so the course was in good condition. I say that, because on the Monday before the race, the officials weren’t sure there was going to be a race at all."

Bikehut Bike Tool Kit
BikeRadar verdict 3 out of 5 stars. "Quality and range are both reasonable, although a crank extractor would have been handy."

CyclingNews: Tim Herman, a member of Lance Armstrong’s legal counsel, has told the BBC that the former Tour de France winner could sit a lie detector test.

Phil Anderson: "There are, and there will remain forever, many who continue to believe in Lance Armstrong’s truth. I for one wanted to believe that he had returned to the top level of cycling post cancer, a miracle."

Distraction

Group standing up for "fundamental human rights issues"
CyclingNews: Paul Willerton, a former professional cyclist who rode for the US alongside Lance Armstrong during two world championship road races, said he and a small group of athletes and cycling fans plan to show up at the Nike corporate headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon, on Tuesday morning to protest the company's continuing support for Armstrong.

VeloNews: They hid. They lied. They used injections to bring their EPO-saturated blood back toward neutral. According to the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency’s 200-page report condemning the U.S. Postal Service dynasty, Lance Armstrong and his cadre of support riders beat the international drug-testing system by manipulating it on every level, from simply hiding to injecting saline just before drug tests.

The World According to Lance
ABC: "The doctor started asking Lance a couple of banal questions, and then boom, have you ever used any performance enhancing drugs? Lance, hanging onto his IV, rattled off EPO, testosterone, cortisone, growth hormone and steroids. My eyes popped out of my head."
