2012 Tour de France's only positive goes in front of Luxembourg panel
CyclingNews: The only rider to test positive in this year's Tour de France, Fränk Schleck, came away from his meeting with the Luxembourg Anti-Doping Agency (ALAD) with "a good feeling", according to Wort.lu.

InnerRing: There are some who say that because almost every overall contender in the Tour de France was doping it doesn’t make much difference to the result. Since everyone was doing it the results would have been the same if everyone had ridden clean.

BrowneEye: "To say that the cycling world has been turned upside down is an understatement. No longer can anyone preface an introduction to Lance Armstrong as “accused of doping.” Any introduction should now be “disgraced professional rider Lance Armstrong.”"

Expect to see Lance Armstrong in suit and tie this fall if his case goes to arbitration
CyclingNews: The New York Daily News has suggested that sportswear company Nike decided to stay loyal to Lance Armstrong despite the overwhelming evidence of doping against him because it may have played an active part in what USADA described as “the most sophisticated doping program in sports history”.

VeloNews: “While I became aware of Floyd’s attempt to dope himself and Levi [Leipheimer] in 2005, my actions were neither complicit nor complacent and I made it clear that this wasn’t right, encouraging them as much as I could at the time to ride clean,” Lim wrote.

Armstrong needs to ‘stop burying his head in the sand’
VeloNation: States decision about 2000 Olympic medal will be made in due course.

[How Spain became center of operations in Armstrong's doping ring] With deep ties in Spain, the U.S. Postal Service team used the country's lack doping environment as a haven. Photo: Franck Fife | AFP
VeloNews: Spain’s reputation as a dopers’ haven is not getting any help from the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency’s investigation against Lance Armstrong. Three Spaniards were key players in the long-running doping ring and Spain became the haven for the U.S. Postal Service’s efforts to acquire illicit doping products and avoid controls.

Cycling 2002 Tour Hamilton Armstrong
Reuters: Lance Armstrong paid for a motorcyclist to deliver the banned bloodbooster EPO to him during the 1999 Tour de France, former team mate Tyler Hamilton said in a BBC radio documentary broadcast on Monday.

ENVE Composites
BikeEurope: ENVE Composites, manufacturer of high-end bicycle components decided to move a major part of its production from China to the USA. ENVE makes wheels, forks, seat posts, handlebars and handlebar stems, along with composite tubes, for custom-bicycle frame builders.

LIGHTNING CARBON CRANKS
RBAction: Lightning cranks are a good, American-made option (there aren’t a lot of homegrown cranks anymore) if you’re planning a lightweight project build, and they will almost surely be compatible if you want to switch out frames down the road.

Bobby Julich
Racy Language: In his book Racing Through the Dark, David Millar relates how he went to Como with his new roommate Bobby Julich to pick up the American's belongings and Millar found a treasure-trove of Motorola team gear. That apartment on Via Masai was originally shared by Armstrong, Andreu and Hincapie but when Lance moved to a villa outside Como, Julich moved in to the apartment.

CyclingNews: Michael Ashenden, the anti-doping expert and former member of the UCI's expert panel, has criticized Cycling Australia – the governing body of cycling in Australia, for a lack of action against doping.

ABC: Anderson was present when Armstrong offered a member of an opposing team a $50,000 bribe to help fix a series of three races which carried a $1 million bonus for any rider who won them all.

Distraction

[Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah] Chris Horner is one of the only riders of his generation not wrapped up in USADA's Armstrong investigation. Photo: Wil Matthews | VeloNews.com
VeloNews: “Never seen it on the team. Never heard about it. Never seen it,” Horner told VeloNews Monday afternoon. “It’s just disappointing, everything you see, everything you read.”

Frank optimistic.
TwistedSpoke: How to explain some of the reactions of late? After a the 200 page USADA “reasoned decision” destroyed any pretense that he never doped, after seeing his legend destroyed in public, Lance Armstrong claims he is “unaffected.” No reaction, huh? Just figure this whole thing will blow over?

Michael Barry and fans, Tour of Qatar 2012, stage three
CyclingWeekly: "Pro cycling needs to be restructured," Barry wrote in the NY Times. "Cycling must follow the long-established pattern of most pro sports, developing a league in which teams are stable and sustainable and where all profits are shared."

Grega Bole (Lampre - ISD)
CyclingNews: The two Dutch WorldTour teams are taking opposite approaches to revelations that their riders or new signings have been mentioned in the USADA Reasoned Decision documents.

this event is called L’Eroica – The Heroic – and jacking it in just isn’t in the spirit.
road.cc: "Mat heads off to Italy for the world famous vintage bike sportive, and loves it."

CyclingNews: Paul Willerton, a former professional cyclist who rode for the US alongside Lance Armstrong during two world championship road races, said he and a small group of athletes and cycling fans plan to show up at the Nike corporate headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon, on Tuesday morning to protest the company's continuing support for Armstrong.

CyclingNews: Dr Michele Ferrari has told Cyclingnews that he is studying the documents from the USADA doping investigation but refused to be drawn on if or how he will respond to the multiple accusations that he helped Lance Armstrong and other riders dope with EPO, Growth Hormones and blood transfusion techniques.
