Paul Kimmage
VeloNation: McQuaid and Verbruggen put case on hold.

Betsy
BikeHugger: The most dramatic moment in The NBC 30 Rock report was when Betsy Andreu shamed Harry Smith. Nothing new to hear, but Emma says, “the media told the lies while the truth was in front of them.”

Tom Boonen
BikeRadar: Tom Boonen has been the superstar of the Omega Pharma-QuickStep team this season, but he’ll have to share that mantle for 2013. The Belgian champion reveals what he thinks of his new teammate. Boonen also takes a look back at his record-breaking Ronde/Roubaix double double.

Bradley Wiggins (Sky) and Vincenzo Nibali (Liquigas - Cannondale) congratulate each other.
CyclingNews: Astana manager Giuseppe Martinelli has welcomed the news that Bradley Wiggins (Sky) is keen to ride the 2013 Giro d’Italia, and believes that the Briton’s presence would serve as additional motivation for his new signing Vincenzo Nibali.

Races & Results.
Crocodile Trophy - Oct 20-29 (Stages & Results),
Giro d'Italia - May 4-26 (Stages),
Tour de France - June 29-July 21 (Stages),

Ondrej Fojtik wins stage 6 of the Crocodile Trophy
CyclingNews:  and Major continue as race leaders.

Fizik R3 White_Blue
road.cc: Lightweight, supple and very comfortable race shoes.

van Garderen
VeloNation: Lelangue - “He has all the qualities to become a big tour winner in the future.”

VeloNews: Betsy and Frankie Andreu told you so. It’s just that for a long time, no one wanted to listen. Lance Armstrong was bigger than sports, bigger than business. He was immense, a scion of the Tour de France, of Nike and cancer. He was unbeatable, on and off the road.

PEZ: Whatever you think of them today, the US Postal team of 1996 - 2004 changed our sport forever. Today we take a look back at some of the images and moments that shaped those times and the development of a team that went from a small American outfit in '96 to the all conquering International Tour de France teams of '99 - '04.

BikeRadar: Whether you’re a mountain biker, roadie or commuter, chances are you’ll have considered using a GPS unit to track your location and plan ride routes. But with smartphones seemingly taking over the world, are you better off just using your mobile, saving money and weight by not having to fork out on another gadget?

Brad McGee
VeloNation: ‘The more I think about it, the more it makes me mad as hell’.

VeloNews: In its statement issued Friday, the UCI announced that, in light of the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency’s findings — which included admissions from several current and former riders — it would not award victories, or upgrade placings, from any affected events from 1998 to 2005, including Lance Armstrong’s seven Tour de France wins.

The riders' blood samples are taken
CyclingNews: Exposes failings in UCI notification system.

Lance Armstrong when he said, “I’ve never used performance-enhancing drugs.”
Peloton: "Trust is an essential human quality. It can also be a liability. That’s something I’ve sadly been reminded of in recent weeks. I trusted Lance Armstrong when he said, “I’ve never used performance-enhancing drugs.” I also trusted his one-time teammates Michael Barry, Tyler Hamilton, George Hincapie, Bobby Julich, Floyd Landis, Levi Leipheimer, Kevin Livingston and Christian Vande Velde when they swore or intimated that they raced clean."

UCI President Pat McQuaid stepped out of the shadows to face the media
CyclingNews: Ahead of the UCI's management committee meeting scheduled for Friday afternoon, and following the sport's greatest doping case around Lance Armstrong, calls within the peloton for the managing body of cycling to launch reforms and stronger anti-doping measures have been growing louder.

PEZ: Why the name Rock Lobster, does it have to do with the B-52's? Does this lightheartedness reflect certain qualities of your brand?
PEZ: Paul Sadoff has been building custom bike frames for over 30 years under the name Rock Lobster. His candid, unassuming attitude and accessible pricing is a breath of fresh air in these NAHBSy (North American Hand Made Bicycle Show) times where art is often prized over substance and proven experience.

UK Anti-Doping rules say that refusal to take a test is an anti-doping violation (John Giles/PA
BikeRadar: Belgian Marcel Six, who rides under a British license, has been given an 18 month suspension for refusing to take a doping test after a round of the Halfords Tour Series on 31 May 2012.

NBC: Lance Armstrong's former friend speaks out about athlete's alleged use of performance enhancing drugs.

InnerRing: Kittel is not alone as other riders have stood up to express themselves on the USADA-Armstrong case, a refreshing balance to some of the odd views expressed by some big names.

Distraction

UCI president Hein Verbruggen with Lance Armstrong in 2002
CyclingNews: External commission to examine UCI's role in Armstrong affair; Kimmage case suspended.

Christian Prudhomme
InnerRing: Three organizations represents something important in the sport but at the same time they’re discreet to the point of being invisible.

[Lance Armstrong, a hero torn down] Lance Armstrong's tarnished heroics brought many to the sport. Photo: Graham Watson | www.grahamwatson.com
VeloNews: "I was 16 years old, and Lance Armstrong was riding away from the Tour de France. Impossibly. He got lucky on the Passage du Gois split, and won the three individual time trials. Of course, until he didn’t win them. But I didn’t know that, then."

Rolf Aldag chats at the start.
CyclingNews: Next year won’t be the first that Rolf Aldag has worked inside the Omega Pharma-QuickStep team. As technical advisor throughout 2012, Aldag was, among other things, a key figure in parts of Tom Boonen’s build-up to the Classics this spring. It’s a sign of how well that relationship worked that both sides have come back for more.

Peloton: Embattled world cycling officials will meet on Friday under pressure to implement real reforms in the wake of the doping scandal around global icon Lance Armstrong.

Cyclismas: Cycling fans are hoping that the sport will clean up once and for all; out with the omertā, and finally some clarity on what may very well have been the fifteen dirtiest years in professional cycling.

InnerRing: "I support the idea but this might only make the UCI President dig in even deeper, something I’ll also explain below too. Reform and change from the UCI is very difficult to achieve for several reasons."

BicycleRetailer: FLO Cycling is working with the Consumer Product Safety Commission to recall about 800 sets of rim tape sold with the company's FLO 60, FLO 90 and FLO Disc aero road wheels earlier this year.

BikeRadar verdict: 4 out of 5 stars. "High level tool with accurate power and sophisticated pedalling analysis."

Dead Star: First image in my head when I saw that McQuaid picture.

Good idea, so I ran with it.
