CyclingIQ: Ukrainian Yuri Metlushenko of the Turkish ‘Konya Torku Seker Spor’ squad nailed the fourth stage’s finishing sprint, but his distant position in the overall individual classification caused no headaches for the team of incumbent orange jersey-wearer Milan Kadlec.

VeloNation: Sven Nys (Landbouwkrediet-Euphony) defiantly showed Niels Albert (BKCP-Powerplus) who is Mr Superprestige as the Belgian champion won yet another race-long duel with the younger World champion.

CXMagazine: Under the Cross After Dark Series disco lights, through deep wet mud from an all-day rain, and to the smears of the HeckleOnline.com Heckle Ghoul, Ryan Trebon (Cannondale/CyclocrossWorld) and Katie Compton (Trek Cyclocross) again soloed to wins, this time at the Lionhearts International at Kings CX in Mason OH p/b Toyota and Siemens.

Photo: Great Britain team pursuit, 1948 London Olympic Games.
CyclingWeekly: When 27-year-old Tommy Godwin won his two bronze medals in the 1948 London Olympic Games in the team pursuit and kilometre time trial at Herne Hill Stadium, there was no state of the art indoor velodrome, no custom made athletes' village.

Photo: Chris Froome.
InnerRing: Dauphin in French means dolpin but also runner-up so it’s fitting that Tour de France and Team Sky Number Two Chris Froome gets to dance with a dolphin in waters near Curaçao.

Photo: Andy Hampsten.
PEZ: One of the most epic ever was Andy Hampsten's ride on the Gavia in the '88 Giro. This was the day Andy Hampsten won the hearts of the Italian tifosi, and the maglia rosa at the 1988 Giro - battling through a snow blizzard and more.

road.cc: Good looks, lovely smooth bearings and the ability to withstand knocks and bumps.

Photo: Bike Hauler.
MBAction: "We like dreaming as much as anyone and this collection of concept mountain bike haulers has us drooling. There is one ringer, however. It was made in the 60's and we still think it blows away the modern wannabes."

Distraction

.
Cyclismas: It’s been almost three weeks since USADA released their reasoned decision in their case against Lance Armstrong which included an avalanche of evidence into the doping practices on the Texan’s various teams. With the lack of top level racing in the days since then, it’s unsurprising that much of the cycling news emerging has included the reactions of people within the sport, not least the cyclists themselves.

TwistedSpoke: In this case, the fallout from the Armstrong-Postal-Best-Illegal-Doping-Program-In-Sports really is fall-out. The town of Livermore, which played host to the Tour of Californian last year, decided to pull the plug on their bid.

Dead Star: First image in my head when I saw that McQuaid picture.

Good idea, so I ran with it.
