Photo: To say that what Macur does is character assassination is unfair...
"I was afraid that “Cycle of Lies” (Harper Collins, $27.99) would rehash much of what I’d read in David Walsh’s “Seven Deadly Sins” or Reed Albergotti and Vanessa O’Connell’s “Wheelmen,” but that didn’t happen. I was grateful for that, but also fascinated by the pressure Juliet Macur brought to bear on her subject. She was a magnifying glass to an ant." (redkiteprayer.com)

The confirmation that Bradley Wiggins will not line up alongside Chris Froome on Sky’s Tour de France squad may be the news of the day, but when Astana manager Giuseppe Martinelli opened the pages of Gazzetta dello Sport at his home near Brescia on Friday morning, his eye was drawn to a report detailing internal divisions within his own team. Photo: Now that the Giro is over and the Tour is approaching quickly, it’s time to relax and prepare for the Grand Boucle.
For as entertaining as the first part of the Giro was, it’s hard to deny that the final week of racing was some of the most exciting Grand Tour racing anybody has seen in years. The Tour has become “big business”, with little room for error and the weight of the entire season (or rider’s careers) riding on the result. (redkiteprayer.com)
