Photo: I gave everything I had to get the victory. I had to try to do it. When I got beaten on the line like this for my last race in Norway, it’s hard...
Thor Hushovd missed out on one final big victory when his brave attack in the final kilometers of the final stage of the Arctic Race of Norway was neutralized by Alexander Kristoff. The retiring Norwegian was hugely disappointed as he desperately wanted the win for himself and his home crowd. (cyclingquotes.com)

Photo: It’s been a really hard season for me, with injuries and no results, and I’ve put a lot of pressure on myself. It’s not over yet.
Last year, it took a strong Vuelta a Espana performance and a stint in theleaders jersey for 30 year old Janez Brajkovic to earn a renewal in his contract with Astana. This year, he finds himself in the same position but he is not riding the Vuelta, and he is left wondering what will happen next. (cyclingquotes.com)

Professional cycling is a sport in which there is rarely any mercy: long, torturous stages are a point of pride for most races, and the athletes themselves are expected to take a never-say-die attitude. So it was surprising when the riders called to the pre-race press conference of the 2014 USA Pro Challenge expressed seemingly unanimous support for the relatively short, punchy race, where the average stage length with the 16.1km time trial is only 120km. Photo: He turned professional with Garmin-Sharp at the beginning of last season and what struck me while watching the film is that Lachlan didn’t seem to care for the path he’d chosen.
At this time last year Lachlan Morton had won a stage of the Tour of Utah, wore the yellow jersey for two days at the US Pro Challenge and won the Youth Classification for both races at 21 years old. A year later he’s admittedly having "the worst season I've ever had." (cyclingtips.com.au)

Photo: What you end up with is a crank that isn’t just shiny, but also has all the details of the wonderful shape intact.
Eric Hayes is the craftsman who polishes our René Herse cranks, locally on the outskirts of Seattle. These days, most bike parts are black, and few in the bike industry still have the skills to polish metal without grinding off too much material, which looks ugly and affects the strength of lightweight parts.
