Season 2015 will see a third American rider joining the mighty Giant team of Kittel, Degenkolb and Dumoulin; Lawson Craddock and Chad Haga will be joined by Optum’s Carter Jones – just reward for a season which saw the 25 year-old figure prominently in every major US stage race.

Milton Keynes World Cup Preview: Course Design and Start Lists.

In one day, the World Cup will leave Continental Europe for the first time in history as it descends upon the town of Milton Keynes. We gave an introduction to the event, as well as a list of amenities and the venue in Issue 26, as well as rider expectations in our Summer’s digital free issue, but the event itself has since put together a course preview (albeit without the fences and course markings). 2014 Report card: Team Sky.

For nearly any other team in the professional peloton, 26 victories would be deemed as a sign of a successful season but for a squad as well resourced and funded as Team Sky, 2014 was a disappointing campaign, littered with crashes, injuries and set-backs.
It was a year in which the team struggled to gain a foothold early on in the season as their main rivals at Astana, Tinkoff-Saxo and Movistar leapfrogged their thin blue line of defence and waved away their air of stage racing superiority. (cyclingnews.com)

MPCC’s Roger Legeay: Unfair to consider Astana WorldTour and Continental teams as same entity.

Legeay, the president of the MPCC anti-doping organization, has said that he believes it is unfair to consider as one block the five positive tests this year relating to Astana-backed riders.
Legeay said that it was important to treat the positive tests by Astana WorldTour riders Maxim and Valentin Iglinskiy as separate to the three relating to the Astana Continental team, namely those of Ilya Davidenok, Victor Okishev and Artur Fedosseyev. ..

Normally, my bike lives on a wall rack in the living room (garage space doesn’t come cheap in LA), but I kept in it in the bag when the season ended. I didn’t want it staring at me in my time off. Other than riding down the street for dinner, I took four full weeks without pedaling.
My last races of the year were the Tour of Beijing and Japan Cup in October. Beijing was an adventure for a lot of reasons. The most memorable moment will be sitting in the lobby before the first stage, as riders, directors, and race organizers discussed whether we’d race with the poor air quality. (velonews.com)

Lance Armstrong reveals he has been motorpacing Tejay van Garderen.

Lance Armstrong has been helping BMC Racing Team’s Grand Tour contender Tejay van Garderen with his training by motorpacing him.
Armstrong revealed his role in van Garderen’s race preparations during an interview with Rouleur magazine #51, published today (Friday).
Armstrong spoke to Danish journalist Morten Okbo at his home in Aspen, Colorado, where Okbo spent three days with the Texan along with photographer Jakob Kristian Sørensen.
During a car journey to a restaurant, Armstrong spoke to his partner Anna Hansen on the phone, saying “Hi, baby. Yeah. I’m with the Danes now. They’re dressed like the Blues Brothers, man! Crazy shit. What? No. I just motor-paced Tejay for an hour. My ass is about to fall off.” (cyclingweekly.co.uk)

Haedo returns to US racing with Jamis-Hagens Berman in 2015.

Afters spending five years overseas and racing at the sport’s highest level, Argentina’s Sebastian Haedo will reunite with American Continental team Jamis-Hagens Berman for the 2015 season. Nibali dismisses the idea of leaving Astana due to doping cases.

Speaking to the media at the team's first get-together in the Tuscan spa town of Montecatini Terme, where rider programs were discussed and decided, Nibali confirmed that a second consecutive victory at the Tour de France will be his major goal of the 2015 season. However he insisted there is still a slight chance he could also ride the Giro d'Italia, perhaps in support of younger teammate Fabio Aru and to target stage victories.
He is clearly angry that the best season of his career has been marred by the doping scandals caused by Kazakhstan riders. But he has no intention to change teams.. (cyclingnews.com)

Kazakhstan Federation suspends Astana Continental team.

The Kazakhstan Cycling Federation has suspended the Astana Continental Team and will investigate the recent spate of doping cases which has hit the team. General manager Dmitri Sedoun has been released by the team. (cyclingnews.com)

Boom defends Astana.

Lars Boom is one of the newcomers on the Astana team. Due to the many doping cases, his decision to join the team has been questioned but the Dutchman continues to defend the Kazakh formation. (cyclingquotes.com)

Boasson Hagen: I don't think many teams will be as fast as us.

For the first time in five years, Edvald Boasson Hagen donned the colors of a new team. The Norwegian rider and his teammates tried on MTN-Qhubeka's new zebra-inspired team kit before it was presented to the world on Thursday evening. Boasson Hagen wasn’t allowed to wear it at the official presentation but got a chance to try it on for the official team photos. He will have to wait until January 1 before he can show off the distinctive kit in public. (cyclingnews.com)
