"A favorite Chrono des Nations champion Sylvain Chavanel did not tremble assuming his position to win the event for the first time in his career after his 2nd place in 2012 and 3rd year last. He succeeds Tony Martin charts and became the first to win the French Herbaria since Pascal Lance in 1995." (cyclismactu.net)

"Grand Tour veteran Ed Hood was at the 2013 Giro d’Italia covering the action, and the stage to Vicenza that year has practically the same profile and course as stage 12 for the Giro’15. Riders from the Belkin team have returned to Chengmai in China for the Tour of Hainan, where they took an unprecedented clean sweep of the stages and overall classification in 2013.
Moreno Hofland captains the Dutch team once again twelve months after he took his first professional victory on the Chinese island. Belkin has selected a fast team for the stage race as they foresee a majority of bunch sprint finishes during the nine stages. However a mountain stage is expected to play a huge part in the final overall classification. (cyclingnews.com)

Forty days after his crash in the Tour de France, Xavier Zandio discovered that he had a broken vertebra. The news came as a relief for him although it meant that his season ended in mid-August. But at least he found a reason for their back pain that prevented him from sleeping. After the rest period, the Team Sky rider resumed training last week to prepare for next year. "It is possible to do all three Grand Tours in one year. I did it in 1958, winning the King of the Mountains classifications in the Vuelta and Tour.
The key to it, though, is how you tackle the season. You have to rest up beforehand. You can’t get to the end of March and already have 6000 kilometres of racing and training in your legs. You have to start your season later, miss out on the Tour of Andalusia and Milan-San Remo and so on." (cyclingnews.com)
