During the last weekend in October a small city on the Canadian prairie, Winnipeg, will host a national cyclocross championship that seeks to surpass all previous editions in scope and quality. With the loss of the Cascade Cycling Classic, the NRC race schedule will be limited to only seven races in 2015, however, there have been three UCI dates added to both the men’s and women’s calendar for 2015.
Redlands Bicycle Classic in Redlands, California will kick the season off in April, while Thompson Bucks County Classic will wrap up the calendar in Pennsylvania on September 12. (velonews.com)

Cyclists from across Australia are gearing up to race through the Jacaranda City and beyond for one of the nation's premier one day race events - the 54th Grafton to Inverell Cycle Race.

2010 Tour de France champion Andy Schleck announced his retirement from cycling at 29 years old Thursday.
“There’s been a lot of speculation, now I have to confirm the speculation,” said Schleck in a press conference in his home country of Luxembourg.

Despite a solid campaign with BMC, where he was 6th at the Vuelta a España, 5th in Lombardia and provided the assist for Philippe Gilbert’s Amstel Gold Race victory, Sanchez has yet to pen a deal for 2015. The Astana project is over for American Evan Huffman, as the Californian will return to racing stateside next season with Team SmartStop. Huffman, 24, rode for Astana for two seasons.

2012 junior cross country mountain bike world champion Andrea Waldis, of Morschach, Switzerland, has joined the Luna Pro Team for the next two years. Waldis is 20 years old and, in addition to winning a world championship, is also the winner of two under 23 World Cup races as a first year under 23 athlete.
