October 16, 2014 Looking
to transfer every last watt of energy from the body to the wheels,
serious riders are constantly in search of gear that prioritizes energy
efficiency. A lot of times this equates to stiffness and as little
weight as possible, which in material terms usually leads to carbon
fiber. This obsession with lightweight composites goes beyond bike
frames, with most high end cycling shoes sporting carbon fiber soles
for maximum power delivery to the pedals. (roadbikereview.com)

October 16, 2014 Every
sport has its colors. Team colors, checkered flags, green blazers.
In cycling, there is simply yellow. Sure, the world champion’s stripes are really something. And there’s the polka-dots, the green jersey, and the maglia rosa. But the Maillot Jaune? It’s the one that’s sought after and dreamt of. It’s the one that motivates broken riders to train, to grind their teeth down. Wearing it in Paris is the dream, but holding it for even a day is something a rider carries with him forever. (velonews.com) October 16, 2014 Cyclocross

technical course. Lou
Kuhn, owner of series sponsor The Pony Shop, appreciated

October 16, 2014 The
wonders of the humble floor pump can only be truly appreciated while

October 16, 2014 The
word ‘iconic’ is often over-worked in cycling, but its application to
the wiggling climb up Alpe d’Huez is entirely justified.
The 13.8-kilometers of tarmac slithers its way from Bourg d’Oisans to the ski resort of Alpe d’Huez in the French Alps, navigating 21 hairpin bends along the way.
