Jens Voigt has paid tribute to the Matthias Brändle (IAM Cycling) after the Austrian beat his Hour Record by over 700 meters on Thursday in Aigle, Switzerland.
Voigt, who is currently at a Trek event in the United States, set the record in September, posting a distance of 51.11km. However Brändle beat that distance on a modified Scott Plasma 5 with double disc wheels on the 200m track at the UCI headquarters. (cyclingnews.com)

Photo: Here are the main ins-and-outs of the cycling's major teams - in alphabetical order..
With the dust settled on the 2014 cycling season it's time to look at who's coming and who's going ahead of the next campaign.
The biggest wholesale shake-ups involve the Garmin Cannondale merger, Giant's hair-raising new co-sponsor, the addition of a second national lottery to the pro peloton and Omega Pharma's three-year sabbatical (with something/someone called Etixx quick-stepping into the fold). Justin Lindine (Redline) is an example of an elite racer who contested both a masters race and elite race at 2014 cyclocross nationals. He won the 30-34 race that year, but with the new rules, will not be allowed to race both in 2015. Photo: Brad Kaminski | VeloNews.com.
In late August, USA Cycling announced a series of changes to 2014-2015 cyclocross season. The two rule changes that created the largest stir were the adjustments of qualification eligibility for cyclocross nationals, which will be held in Austin, Texas in January 7-11, 2015.
In years past, racers have been allowed to compete in both the masters and elite fields at cyclocross nationals, provided that the rider is eligible to compete in both of the respective categories. (velonews.com)

With Cycle-Smart International coming this weekend (and giving some hints on social media about a possible sand pit) and all the bucket loads of sand in Winnipeg last weekend, now might be the perfect opportunity to refresh the skills of riding through the sand.
Riding through the sand takes some practice to be sure, which is unfortunate since most of us don’t have a natural sand beach in our back yard and many local parks are not exactly keen on us ripping through their volleyball courts on our cyclocross bikes. (cxmagazine.com)
