Tony Martin versus
the World? Last year he was so fast his average speed was superior to
many of the teams in the team time trial event. His win seems certain,
cycling’s answer to cosmological constant. But if time trials rarely
make for good TV new production techniques are helping and even with
old school broadcasting there’s a race on for the other podium
places. (inrng.com)
September 23, 2014 Lennard Kamna in the
morning and Lisa
Brennauer in the afternoon made for a German double in
today’s World championship time trials in Ponferrada. Brennauer was one of
the late starters, but she built up her speed to storm force for the
win, just like the weather at the finish. (pezcyclingnews.com)

Lennard Kämna won Tuesday’s junior world time trial
championships in Ponferrada, Spain. “I am very happy to win here,” said
Kämna.
“I hope to realize it in the next few days. The last kilometers were
the hardest, with the climb, and after 25km, this was very hard. At the
top of the mountain, my trainer said I had the best time, so I was
hoping that I would not crash, and that I could win. This season and
the winter, I trained a lot. I have a good trainer, and he is the
reason why I am so good.” On a 29.5km course, he averaged 49.8kph and
bested American Adrien
Costa by 44 seconds. (velonews.com)

the pro-Russian rebels and the Ukraine government and too dangerous.
She has become a refugee in her own land. (cyclingnews.com)

September 23, 2014 September 22, 2014 September 22, 2014 | Although
Belgium head into Sunday’s Elite men’s road race at the World
Championships without a clear team leader, few would doubt the
collective strength in depth to their nine-man roster. With two former
world champions in Tom
Boonen and Philippe
Gilbert, the in-form Greg
Van Avermaet, and Sep
Vanmarcke and Jan
Bakelants waiting in the wings, the team possess a
garrison of weapons for the tactical assault on Ponferrada.

September 23, 2014 Alex Howes and
Kiel Reijnen rarely
lack interesting or unusual topics of conversation. This comes in handy
for the longtime friends and training partners. Seven-hour training
rides ahead of world championships go by faster. Or, when they sit down
for coffee, as they did with VeloNews on Saturday, the pair is good
company. (velonews.com)

September 23, 2014 "Australia
appears to be the favorite to take the 2014 World Championships road
title in Ponferrada, Spain, with Simon
Gerrans, but we examine what teams could stop them and
their strengths. This is a top ten list, so it is of course limited and
leaves out a few teams like Switzerland with Fabian Cancellara,
but it nonetheless it gives you an idea of what could happen on
Sunday."

September 23, 2014 "I
first came to know Mercian Cycles a long time ago, back when nobody

shadow of the Black Country the custom frame was considered as it is
now, a luxury item, though they were perhaps a bit more common before
the advent of carbon and aluminium." (brooksengland.com)

September 23, 2014 September 22, 2014 | September 23, 2014 Padraig: "As
the writer whose work was stolen, this is news to me. Tyler didn't contact
me about this before making the decision to do this. I love People for
Bikes, and I think they are doing some of the most important advocacy
work in cycling and need every cent they can get, but Tyler isn't Robin
Hood. He stole from me and giving to People for Bikes doesn't make what
he did okay. By stealing my work and presenting it as his own, he's
actively making it harder for me to feed my family. Normally, when you
steal someone's work, you pay the aggrieved party, not someone else."
