Rodríguez didn’t make it out of the first week.

September 3, 2014 Stiff,
fast, and hugely enjoyable. (roadcyclinguk.com)
September 3, 2014 The
Pioneer Gen-2 powermeter’s main point of differentiation is how it
measures true left/right power (force and directional) as well as
balance and efficiency through a plethora of data for real-time
viewing. (cyclingtips.com.au)
September 3, 2014 There’s
always lots of electric bikes at Eurobike. Lots and lots and lots. From
folding bikes to road bikes to mountain bikes to fat bikes, everything
gets a motor fitted by someone. One place we weren’t expecting to find
one, however, was the Lightweight stand. You know, the purveyors of
German carbon über lightness that make the posh wheels and the
Urgestalt frameset. (road.cc)
September 3, 2014 The
biggest trend in the road cycling market for 2015 is disc-equipped road
bikes. At Eurobike last week, the world’s biggest gathering of bicycle
manufacturers, there were loads of new disc road bikes to see. (road.cc)

year’s Tour of Britain (September 7-14) looks set to be a redemption
story of two British riders out to make amends for early season
disappointments. (cyclingweekly.co.uk)
September 3, 2014 By
now you've heard the news... Tyler
Farrar, the Wonder of Wenatchee, Washington, is saying
goodbye to his long-time professional home, the Argyle Bunch. Garmin
are undergoing some significant changes, blah blah blah... short of it
is, if they offered him a contract at all, it must not have been a very
good one. (podiumcafe.com)

Tom Dumoulin
won the opening prologue time trial at the Tour of Alberta on Tuesday
evening in Calgary and will wear the gold leader's jersey during
Wednesday's first stage. (cyclingnews.com)
September 3, 2014 The
fall classic usually nicknamed "the race of the falling leaves" should
perhaps be known as "the race of the changing percorso". This years
edition will see a very different look. All new, but still looks like
one of the best courses of the year. (podiumcafe.com)
September 3, 2014 After
dipping the tires of his heavily laden bicycle into the salty water at
Stanley Park in Vancouver, 24-year-old Graeme Loader set
off from British Columbia in mid-July to raise money for the World
Wildlife Foundation. (bikingbis.com)

September 3, 2014 BikeRadar

stars. "Swift-riding USA-designed bike with a fast-beating Flandrian
heart." (bikeradar.com)
September 3, 2014 Brilliant
design work and clever construction methods, all wrapped in fantastic
green paint. (bikeradar.com)
September 3, 2014 Hope
has always been about manufacturing products in the UK. If
there is something they think they can do better, they’ll develop the
processes in house to make it happen. Always a huge force in CNC
machining, we were surprised to hear that Hope plans on getting into
the carbon fiber game as well. (bikerumor.com)
September 3, 2014 | September 3, 2014 Robin Williams loved
lube. He loved chain lube and rear derailleurs, lactic acid and bike
geometry. Just mention the bicycle, and he melted, his fingers tracing
his oration of the bicycle as art, as utility and culture. He worshiped
bicycles. This was not lip-service from a Hollywood star. He owned 60
bikes. (velonews.com)
September 3, 2014 Want
to know who made your bike? Which companies dominate the sector? Who
owns a particular brand? Here’s a guide that shows most of the main
companies in the sector with a few surprises. (inrng.com)

September 3, 2014 Ryan Trebon was
relaxed leading up to the 2014 Qiansen Trophy Cyclocross Race in China,
but as the race neared, he was all business. He skipped the tour of The
Great Wall the day before race to ride and “make the legs feel better”
and come race day, he was clearly gunning for the win. (cxmagazine.com)
September 3, 2014 Banned
British pro Jonathan
Tiernan-Locke will be riding next month’s Exmoor Beast
sportive “as his friends seek to expose the injustice of his recent two
year ban from pro cycling” according to event
organizers. (bikeradar.com)
September 3, 2014 In
addition to the carbon fiber sole, the Lake CX237 feature a kangaroo
leather upper and a double Boa closure. The kangaroo leather gives the
upper a more supple feel than many competing shoes, not to mention
greater breathability. Because this is a natural leather it will
stretch a bit and the fit did improve over the first two months of
riding before the fit settled in. (redkiteprayer.com)
September 3, 2014 It
was around this time last year that I first laid eyes on the Niner RLT 9 at
Interbike. Needless to say, it was a pretty big deal at the show.
Similarly, albeit better timed, the BSB
9 RDO was launched just shortly ahead of the ‘cross
season.

September 3, 2014 Two
bolts, in this case, are better than one. Do not be fooled by the
nasty, ill-tempered, poorly functioning U-brakes of mountain bikes
past. The latest direct-mount road brakes may look somewhat similar,
but they exist in an entirely different realm of fit and function.

September 3, 2014 BikeRadar

stars. "Soft, plush, and comfortable for upright riding positions."
