Vuelta Stage 11: No Rest For the Weary.

Saxo-Tinkoff's Alberto Contador threw down a major marker at the Vuelta a Espana's premier time trial today with a strong ride, propelling him into the overall lead after ten stages. More importantly, both of his presumed rivals suffered terribly on the stage, Sky's Chris Froome from an apparent lack of form and Movistar's Nairo Quintana from a disastrous tumble off a guardrail that cost him more than three minutes, and a bit of skin. Parents, friends of late world junior TT champion Igor Decraene dismiss suicide claims.

According to the Belga news agency, Decraene’s death was self-inflicted. This contradicted the RTBF Sport website, which quoted the Belgian federation la Ligue Vélocipédique Belge (RLVB) and his club De Tieltse Rennersclub as saying that he was victim of a ‘tragic accident.’ (cyclingtips.com.au)

Farrar confirms Garmin exit ahead of Tour of Britain.

Report: 2015 Tour de France to feature highest ever finish.
