Religious miracles have been built on less. Alberto Contador’s resurrection from a broken leg to the strongest legs in Spain continues as he rolls on towards Santiago de Compostella. It’s hard to see how he can be beaten now and the battle for the podium could be settled too. (inrng.com)

Even over a half century later, It's still possible to feel a little sorry for Bruno Tognaccini and what happened after he won stage 10 of the Vuelta a España in 1957. The Italian rider had just captured what proved to be the second biggest triumph of his career (the first being a Giro d'Italia stage in 1956). But there was a catch. Edoardo Zardini says that he will fight to keep his leader’s jersey, after he claimed victory on stage 3 of the Tour of Britain. "I’m not bad in time trials but I’m not a specialist. I’ll lose a bit there but maybe I can try and pick up a bigger gap in the next few stages. But it won’t be easy," he said after stepping onto the podium to claim his yellow jersey. (cyclingnews.com)

Two-time Tour de France champion Alberto Contador will not compete in the world road race championships later this month, he said on Tuesday. The 2015 Giro d’Italia is coming into focus with less than a month until the route presentation. Organizer RCS Sport will unveil next year’s course October 6 at the Palazzo del Ghiaccio in Milan, where the race is due to finish after a trip south to Campania and north though the mountains via Madonna di Campiglio, Mortirolo, and the Colle delle Finestre. Lance Armstrong and his legal team appear to have caught a break. At least for now. The New York Daily News recently reported that Armstrong’s attorneys are battling the Department of Justice over what’s been construed as a federal error that saw the DOJ lawyers accidentally leak sensitive papers to the Armstrong team.
