Oleg Tinkov is ready to offer a €1 million to Alberto Contador and his Grand Tour rivals if they will compete in all three Grand Tours in 2015. Tinkov launched his Grand Tour triple challenge at the Giro d'Italia presentation in Milan after Contador confirmed that he will target a Giro d'Italia-Tour de France double. Tinkov believes that the best Grand Tour riders in professional cycling should go head to head in the three Grand Tours. He first called on riders to ride all three Grand Tours via Twitter. Now he has backed his offer with a significant cash incentive. (cyclingnews.com)

Photo: As this edition seems to be more balanced at first glance, it could maybe be one for a more complete rider as well.
The new Word Champion Michał Kwiatkowski attended the 2015 Giro d’Italia presentation along with his team-mates Rigoberto Uran and Matteo Trentin on Monday, just after making his first-ever appearance in the rainbow jersey at Il Lombardia. The 24-year old Pole recently claimed that he will focus more on one-day classics in the nearest future, but called the balanced route of next year’s Italian three-week event as a one suitable for not only pure climbers, but more complete riders of his own kind. Photo: The 2015 Giro d’Italia will take place from May 9 – 31. Here’s a look at the route, the early contenders and some more thoughts..
The opening stage is a team time trial run on cycle path. It’s on an old railway line featuring illuminated tunnels and just wide enough to fit a team car and like last summer’s Dauphiné, a way to show off the local infrastructure. (inrng.com)

Simon Lees.
Rollers are viewed with suspicion, incomprehension or downright fear by many riders – a dangerous liability only suitable for hardcore experienced riders. But once mastered, they can provide a valuable addition to the training armoury of any cyclist, regardless of experience. (bikeradar.com)

Photo: ad news. Training today I hardly could pedal because of the knee, finally I don't go to China.
Alberto Contador has announced on Monday that injuries sustained in the Il Lombardia crash prevent him from training effectively, and thus he won’t participate in the final WorldTour event of the season, the Tour of Beijing held from October 10 to 14. This means that Alejandro Valverde will become a winner of 2014 individual rankings, it is unclear, however, if the Movistar leader will take part in the event as the battle between Spaniards is over. "To chase a classic is always very stressful: you need a lot of study to plan the race passages and a lot of experience to realize that plan. That’s why Lombardia is the most difficult to follow live: the organizers change the route every 4-5 years. When you barely know the tricks, they change the game!" (pezcyclingnews.com)

Photo: Like most things all these good things come in twos.
"Life is full of surprises. Will my coffee be good or amazing today, will this mystery beer I’ve been handed while cross eyed blow my mind or make me blow my chunks, or will file treads be fast or make me crash? It is not often that I really know much going into the season or ever for that matter. I don’t race all summer, so my form is always a mystery. With Interbike and cyclocross happening in summer these days the question always looms will bikes be ready on time? Of course in my day-to-day life there is always the question of what on earth will the donkeys do today." (cxmagazine.com)

"With Dan Martin taking a well deserved victory in the Giro di Lombardia yesterday. We take a look back at the action and study that rare breed of rider – an attacker who took a chance and won! In case you missed it, something rather profound and about as rare as a white rhino sighting in downtown Milan happened yesterday on the roads of Lombardy. Yes, ladies and gents, a professional bicycle rider took a chance and won a road race." (pezcyclingnews.com)

Photo: In this day and age any road bike that doesn’t need to be UCI legal would opt for nothing but disc brakes. Photography by Wade Wallace
"Gravel grinding, adventure riding, whatever you want to call it, it’s nothing new. Bikes have been going off-road for longer than pavement has existed, but there’s never really been the perfect tool for the job when you want to go from pavement, to dirt, to trails and back when connecting some new routes. You’re most likely a seasoned enthusiast and are probably tired of riding the same roads again and again. This is where the Diverge will help inspire you to broaden your horizons."
