The Tour of Beijing is no more. After four editions, the Chinese stage race will no longer close out the UCI WorldTour. Jane Aubrey has worked on the Tour of Beijing for the past two years and wrote the following about why the race's cancellation is genuine shame. (cyclingtips.com.au)

The World Tour is over and Spain tops all the rankings: Alejandro Valverde leads the UCI rankings, Movistar win the best team and Spain finish well ahead of Italy for the best nation. A fiesta or a statistical quirk?
Spain’s best riders are ageing, the trio of Valverde, Alberto Contador and Joaquim Rodriguez have a combined age of over 100 years. Who are the young riders carrying the Spanish hopes for the future? (inrng.com)

Oleg Tinkov is crazy about cycling and has a “cool” idea to get the top stage racers in all three of the 2015 Grand Tours, says Adam Hansen. The Australian professional has consecutively raced all three Grand Tours for the past three years – the Giro d’Italia, the Tour de France and the Vuelta a España – and wants to see the stars do the same next season. Throton A Sulivan Park played host to the fourth stop on last year’s MFG Cyclocross Series. The venue change was a last minute one, done after heavy rains made a joint venture with the Cascade Cross series in Bellingham impossible (the impact of nearly a thousand people and two days of racing would have been too high). This year however was a different story. (cxmagazine.com)

Photo: what’s particularly terrific about this tool is the fact that it fits over the quick release nut, meaning you no longer need to remove the quick release skewer in order to change cassettes.
The genius of the Crombie isn’t that it packs up nice and small, though I do appreciate its efficient size. And it isn’t that a single tool includes both the chain whip and the cassette lockring tool in a single package. Or that you don’t need an adjustable wrench. Or even that a single tool includes both Campagnolo and Shimano cassette tools. All of those things are terrific, but what’s particularly terrific about this tool is the fact that it fits over the quick release nut, meaning you no longer need to remove the quick release skewer in order to change cassettes. (redkiteprayer.com)

The USH is at home on a cyclocross bike, unless you're fighting through the slop. It would also do well as a touring tire for those who like dirt roads. Photo: Brad Kaminski | VeloNews.com.
"If you’re like me, you don’t actually ride a lot of cyclocross during cyclocross season.
Maybe I’m in the minority, but in the fall, most of my time spent actually cyclocrossing — if that is a verb — is during races. Midweek rides are often on a mix of roads, dirt roads, and a few trails and parks for good measure.
For that reason, among others, the Clement X’Plor USH tires I mounted back in July have remained on my ‘cross bike far longer than expected and have served as reliable training tires." (velonews.com)

"A couple weeks back I invited a few people to write a short review of the video. I did this for a couple of reasons: firstly, reviewing a video I was involved in would be a bit of a conflict of interest (of course I think it’s great); and secondly, we’re keen to do further videos along the same lines and we wanted to find out what people liked about Elements of Style, and what they didn’t."
